“Quiet Comfort in an Affordable Luxury Suite”
I only spent one night here, but was very impressed. The kitchen is a big money saver and can pay for the room if you cook your own food, it's well stocked and there is a supermarket only a block away. I had no issues with the elevators. The room looked fresh with hardwood floors in the nicely sized kitchen/dining/living area. The bedroom was well appointed and I was only slightly stiff from a mattress I wasn't used to. I had a city view room on the 22nd floor, and the balcony with a sweeping view was great, even served to help me navigate my way around. Putting two people in one room is possible, but it would be best if they were certain that they get along, the suite is best suited to an individual or a couple or a couple with a child, although two business travelers could be comfortable if they didn't require a lot of private time. In my suite there was only a loveseat (which converts to a bed), not a full sofa. Overall, I went up to Vancouver for a bit of relaxation and adventure, Sandman Suites provided amply for my relaxation. I highly reccomend this hotel. It's not a five star hotel, which I don't like anyway because I feel like I have to have a suit and tie on to walk through the lobby. I give it five stars for quiet comfort, and the ability to eat on your own schedule, and place convenient to all downtown locations. You get a suite for less than some downtown plain double queen rooms, making the Sandman Suites a real bargain.
“Wonderful experience!”
Prfect Location, great experience with affordable price! You think you are staying at your own apartment in Vancouver. very close to English bay,Stanley park,Yaletown and,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, whatever you need you'll get it in your room even wine opener!! Thanks to all staff for their hard work.
“Good Location for ethnic food”
We loved the location in downtown Vancouver. There were tons of fabulous ethnic food restaurants nearby. Did not realize when we booked that it was located in the "West End - LGBT"part of town but were not bothered by this at all. Everyone was friendly and we felt comfortable. Short walk to ferry for Granville Island.
“comfortable and cozy”
The hotel has a great location, great customer service and amenities
“Great hotel for the money”
The rooms are small, but clean and nicely furnished. There is even a washer and dryer in the room! Also, it is in a safe neighborhood and is within walking distance to many retaurants and shops. We would stay there again.
“Great hotel in Vancouver”
Close to Stanley park (great for bike riding - rentals close by), shops, restaurants, supermarkets, liquor store, mass transit...has onsite parking..worth it to pay extra for view of the sound...full kitchen (with stove, dishes, and dishwasher) is wonderful...two TVs, in room washing machine...staff is efficient and friendly...great value for a city hotel.
“Cool place during a hot August”
A convenient location and pleasant hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia. Our room had a separate bedroom, an outdoor lania, a pull-out couch bed, a table, and modern appliances, including a washing machine and dishwasher. It was like a little apartment. The weather was unusually hot for Vancouver, and in some places reached 100 degrees. The suite was comfortably air-conditioned. The staff was friendly and helpful, as were the other guests. If you go during the August fireworks displays, and like fireworks, be sure to get an upper room facing English Bay. We were on the wrong side, but could see them reflected in the city buildings.
“Good for 3 stars hotel”
Great hotel location. A lot places to walk. We were on top floor so the view was great, however, the room was in average condition. The kitchenware was limited, the bed and pillows were not comfortable, and the overall room cleanliness was not perfect. But for 3 stars hotel and price, it was acceptable. We would stay in this hotel again mostly because of location and price.
“Great location”
Great views of west downtown & mountains. Stay on 18th floor or higher. Take advantage of Moxie's restaurant I was very impressed by the quality of the food for a hotel restaurant.
“I like this Hotel!”
