Location location plus a bit more

Posted Jul 19, 2015
In a cosmopolitan area close to everything - quiet clean and perfect for our stay. Vancouver is a great city / we hope to come back some day and if we do we will definitely stay here. I would still convert the fitness room to a breakfast room though..

I wish it was a little nearer to Canada Place

Posted Jul 12, 2015
Pros: It's an all round good hotel, service, brekki and parking options are a big bonus.
Cons: Freshen up the reception and shared areas
Location: A little out of the way but perfect location if you want to get to English Bay, Stanley Park and Granville Island.
A great hotel but could do with brightening up. A little out of the way if you want to be around the buzz of the city and as a consequence spent more time travelling by car or bus when it would of been good to walk around to see a little bit more of the city.

Vancouver zu Fuß entdecken!

Posted Jun 29, 2015

Downtown Vancouver

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: Central location, week appointed comfortable room
Cons: blackout curtains could be upgraded to close better to keep city light out
Location: Central location and great food and clubs nearby
Love the fact they do not charge for parking like the other downtown hotels

Comfortable Hotel/ Great Location

Posted Jun 21, 2015
Pros: See above
Cons: The only adverse comment would be that the volume control on the TV in our second stay (different room) was 'stuffed'.
Location: See above
The decision to stay at Sunset Inn twice during our stay in Canada turned out to be a good one and the advance research conducted through Expedia certainly paid dividends. The hotel's location was very convenient to transport/ food outlets and and its facilities included a well-equipped kitchen in the room and a very inexpensive laundry for washing clothes. Additionally, the hotel is located in a very pleasant spot - friendly locals and friendly ambiance. Finally, the staff at reception (particularly Brant, Elvis and Arabella) were very helpful and greatly assisted in making our stay a very positive experience. We would certainly stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone.

Time spent at the Sunset Inn and Suites was wonderful. From the minute we arrived the staff were very accommodating. After a long day of traveling we arrived at the hotel well before check in time and without any hesitation the staff changed our room to one that was available so that we didn't need to wait. Everyone was very friendly and helpful in planning activities. Being able to have breakfast in the morning at the hotel before heading out for the day was a big bonus. Location is great- was able to walk to all planned destinations in downtown Vancouver.

Pros: See above
Cons: Lobby area was cramped, but suites were not at all, and that was the best thing.
Location: Didn't enjoy the area around there all that much but we were not there to sightsee, so it didn't really matter.
Super nice and helpful desk staff. Good value. Huge rooms/suites.

Feel at home!

Posted Jun 6, 2015
Pros: The STAFF! The breakfast! The waffle station! The coffee! The proximity to everything = in walking distance for the most part.
Cons: While it looked like the Inn had been newly renovated, it was musty. We liked being out on the (very small) balcony, but it let it flies.
Location: The location was central and within walking distance to Robson and Davies Streets to shop and eat, and the park to have fun and watch the sunsets.
The staff of Sunset Inn and Suites made our stay absolutely incredible. They all went above and beyond any sense of responsibility to their guests to make our stay the wonderful experience that it was. Gold medals to Arrabella and (oh, gosh I forgot his name! but he works the front desk and was a photographer!) for helping to get us to the places we wanted to go, even when we didn't know we wanted to get there! Silver medal to David (at the front desk) for finding us a room that was available when we arrived very early for check-in after we flew all night long. Bronze medals for Dale and Shaba, who went out of their way to help us and made our stay as memorable as it was. Thank you all!

Good value - reasonable access to downtown

Posted Jun 5, 2015
Pros: Spacious suite with well equipped kitchen which I used to good effect although there are plenty of eating establishments within a very short walk.
Cons: Beds not particularly comfortable. Room had limited seating (1 person easy chair) other than the dining chairs in the kitchen area.
Spent 4 nights here having arrived by train from Toronto. Very close to bus route giving access to downtown Vancouver and the sky train transit system (or a 20 minute walk). Similar walking time to Granville Island and to Stanley park.
