“Greenbrier and the Vancouver 2010 Olympics”

All in all this hotel had a bad rap from the past. Considering the rooms were completely redeone in the past two months they were clean, odor free and comfortable. . Additionally the staff was great!!!

“Convenient location in downtown Vancouver”

Conveniently located hotel in downtown Vancouver, about 5min away from Coal Harbor and 10min away from the Convention Center. Lots of food places nearby. Room was comfortable with kitchen corner, refrigerator, and coffee maker. Only disadvantage was that breakfast in the lobby only was available at 7.30am.

“Not to shabby for an older place!”

The hotel service is excellent. I found the place very clean, no problems with the sheets or bathroom. The lower scores reflect the older nature of the hotel, which seems in fact to be converted apartments; but the rooms have been redone and the location was a pleasant surprise being between the Park and a major shopping street with easy access to bike rentals, movie rentals, and a coffe shop early in the morning when nothing else is open. I would stay here again.

“Great Location”

My rating my be a little high since I am influenced by expecting the worst. I was able to obtain a room during the Olympics at 1/3 the cost of anywhere else. It is right on Robson street but far enough from the downtown that it's not too loud. The staff (with the exception of the hotel manager) were all very polite and accomodating. If you care about style and esthetics more than functionality, then this hotel is not for you. The paint was done poorly and the fixtures/furniture are past due. However, its its a great price and close to downtown that you are after than look no further (just steer clear of the manager).

“great”

it was great! hotel staff was friendly-our room was right next to the front desk which made me a bit sad at first but it was surprisingly quiet. we had a great view of the parade down robson from our hotel window which was brilliant! there is a kitchen but not things to use in the kitchen, but maybe you can request cooking stuff-we figured we were in vancouver, we should eat out :D

“Decent”

We ended up on the ground floor with our room entrance right beside the front reception the room was nice. It had a kitchenette but had not cooking supplies or kitchenware. The worst was the noise from the reception all night. I would stay again if you we were guaranteed not to stay in room 111 (the one next to the reception)

“Slightly worn but worth $$$, good staff”

Considering the price, it was a good place to stay for a few days. Good, not great. As per previous comments, you have to request kitchenware and microwaves. I needed both as I was travelling with baby. I was assured that all I needed to do was ask when I checked in and I'd be given everything. Well, it took the staff a couple hours to round up everything as though it had been years since anyone had asked about for kitchenware. There were no microwaves left and the staff ended up giving me theirs. I had to move rooms twice - first room was on main floor next to parking lot. I had spoken with staff prior to arrival to ask for a quiet room as I had a baby. Got moved to 2nd room that someone had smoked in, really gross odour and the previous occupant had even covered up the fire detector with a plastic bag. 3rd room (after one night in the smokey room)was good, though the handle of the shower fell off everytime you touched it and the toilet dispenser was almost off the wall. So slightly disorganized but the hotel staff were all very accommodating and friendly. Fulfilled most requests expeditiously. Helped with all of our stuff up and down the stairs. Furniture and carpets newer but there are some upgrades that could go into the place - probably making it more expensive to stay. It was the only hotel I could find that had a separate living area so that my baby could sleep in the bedroom undisturbed. felt a bit like Goldilocks asking to be moved twice. Great location. ok brkfst.

“Great location - right on Robson street”

Great location but be prepared for the noise that goes with it. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived before check-in time but they offered to store our luggage. Once we checked in we found that the bed was not completely made. Hotel staff responded quickly to rectify. Remember this is a 2 to 2 1/2 star hotel. Not very fancy. Found the room to be a tad dirty and the renovations they attempted to make to this old apartment building to be fairly amateurish. I had to tighten the toilet seat as it was practically off. Towels were like sand paper on first day but better the next. Coffee was available in the room but not replenished the next day. Would only recommend if you were in Vancouver for a few days and looking for cheap accomodations.

“Bad condition Hotel”

The Hotel location is very good but it is 2 star hotel and you can EXPECT! The room smell was very bad.

“There are many other options for a stay in Vancouver.”

Without a doubt the worst hotel I've ever used. I can't believe this one even rated an entry on the Expedia site. You would only stay here to help you appreciate every other hotel you might ever use in your life. Dirty, noisy, no air conditioning to speak of, bad neighborhood, poorly maintained, $20 a night for parking. Ugh. Never again.
