Excellent boutique hotel on RobsonPosted Aug 11, 2014
Cons: Wireless access needs to be updated significantly.
Location: Running, shopping, dining
This hotel was great. Good staff, super location to Robson Street shopping and dining. The only drawback was a faulty wireless internet connection throughout the hotel. We'll stay there again! And again!

Some rooms better than others.Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Location, cleanliness, comfortable bed. If you don't have too much luggage, you can take the train to and from the airport.
Cons: Some rooms could stand to be remodeled.
Location: Stanley Park is just a short walk away. Robson Street has a great variety of shops and restaurants.
I stayed at the Listel on August 5 and on August 8. The first room I had was fabulous. It was spacious and very modern. The second room I had (for a higher, weekend, price), was small and could stand to be remodeled. The hotel is very convenient to many local attractions and was very clean. The staff is very helpful.

Home runPosted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Nice water view, location, funky beautiful art all over the hotel--including the rooms.
Cons: I can't think of anything...
Location: Stanley park, waterfront parks, shopping, pretty much all Vancouver has to offer.
My husband said I hit a home run when I picked this hotel. Pretty and comfortable in a great part of town. There is a nice--expensive--restaurant, with delicious food, albeit a bit pretentious for my taste. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. This hotel is about a 20 min walk from the center of town, .7 miles to Stanley Park and about .5 miles to the water. It is also on a lively street with tons of coffee shops and restaurants. Loved it.

Good value and good locationPosted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Fairly spacious room (#217–2×Queen), comfortable bedding, reasonable rate, convenient location, funky art, good staff. Loved the restaurant (Forage).
Cons: Terrible in-room WiFi (but it's free). Weak shower in a cramped bathroom that does not appear to have changed much in 30 years.
Location: This is Robson Street. You can shop and eat 'till you drop, walk NW to Stanley Park, NE to Canada Place, S to English Bay and Granville Island, etc.
This isn't a four-star experience, but it isn't really trying to be. What it is is a comfortable hotel with good service, attractive art installations, a good restaurant, in a great central location, all at a rate that won't break the bank. The room furniture and fixtures are older (especially the bathrooms), but everything is in good repair. (There was a nice HD flat panel TV, but we weren't there to watch TV.) The facility is a bit tired and worn, but this is cleverly hidden with dim lighting, nice art, and what I'll call "tactical" renovations. In some places this just feels like lipstick on a pig, but other areas are very well done. My wife and I were there for three nights with our 11-year-old daughter, and we had a good time. The room was perfectly adequate for our purposes.

Great Location!Posted Jul 28, 2014
This was our first visit to Vancouver and we wanted a hotel that we could easily access shopping, Stanley Park, aquarium, etc. The Listel provided this for us. Everything we wanted to see was within a 15 - 20 minute walk. Hotel itself was quiet even though it is on a very busy street. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the city, transportation, etc. Overall a great experience.
