Pros: convenient location for the traveller
Cons: Plumbing
OK for one or two nights. The view out of the window and Balcony was pleasing.

You get what you pay for

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Staff, coffee, free wifi, free tv, ac
Cons: Better pillows, new beds, new beddings, cleaner bathroom, new paint, quieter room.
Ok stay. We stayed for two nights and our room was not cleaned on our second day. The staff was friendly but the room was ok. The bed was too soft, maybe very old bed. Hard to sleep at night because our room was facing the hwy 1 freeway, noisy, and the pillows were horrible, so thin as if i have no pillows at all. Overall ok. You get what you pay for. The coffee was nice.

Really comfortable - Felt like home.

Posted Jun 14, 2014
Pros: When I saw the inner courtyard, reminded me of Mexico. Easy, quick access to major routes, BCIT, Trans Canada (hwy 1).
Cons: Renovations are ongoing, so really, nothing. This hotel is a great family alternative.
Location: Within walking distance, Starbucks, TD Bank, a great Chinese restaurant, Subway, other small shops and restaurants, gas station.
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the 401 Inn - was there for two weeks. The staff were very friendly and the room was comfortable. Loved the open inner courtyard and the ability to open my door to trees and a lane, rather than a downtown. Cats liked it too. Might not have all the amenities (there are in-room options available) or look of some more expensive properties, but if you're looking for comfort at a good price with friendly staff, plus easy access to major routes, I highly recommend the 401 Inn.

The Hotel staff was truly exceptional!

Location: The location is a little noisy, being located at the intersection of two major roadways, but rooms at the back are not noisy. Easy to get onto Hwy 1.
When my dad checked in, he was greeted by a wonderful staff person, Sim. She was kind and friendly and made sure he was well taken care of, even giving him a ground floor room when I explained he couldn't climb stairs very well. This last minute adjustment to the reservation was surprising and accommodating. There is also a lovely outdoor lounge area with patio tables and chairs where you can sit in the sun and read the paper and enjoy some free coffee. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends.

Stop and sleep

Posted May 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
If you are needing a stop point to sleep and move on, it was acceptable for an ok price. Older and no amenities but rm a good size bed good. Worked for passing thru. Easy to find and get back on the hwy. old and worn but tidy, clean but a but smelly depending on rm. hwy noise not terrible it Stopped about 11 and started about 6. Prob would not pick this one again.
