Excellent city centre hotel

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Entrance to the swimming pool was in need of a reno - lovely changing rooms, pool was good too, but getting there was a bit confusing and needed work.
Location: Centre of Vancouver - great access to all Vancouver sights, we walked a lot but Sky train is very close.
Professional, polite, friendly, helpful staff. Great location, centre of the city, but no noise problems so sleeping no trouble. Comfy, clean and well maintained rooms, great bed. Only ate in the restaurant once for breakfast - staff were very attentive and food was quick and tasty. Very nice hotel would stay there again without a doubt.

Rude Hotel Staff

Posted Aug 26, 2014
Hotel was very beautiful and the rooms were very nice. But the front desk staff was the worse customer service I have ever experienced. I had booked through Expedia a room with a King size bed or twin beds with a special request to request a King only. He basically told me that the room assigned is a twin beds and that they don't care what is put in special request. His comment made me wonder about any ADA request someone could have. Anyway, he spoke to me in a very rude tone and basically told me that this is it. I would not book here again.

Convenient downtown location, nice hotel

Location is great!! Staff very friendly, informed and helpful. The hotel is quite clean, though could improve on the details level/green thinking (eg- turning on all lights in room every evening). Overall a good experience. Would stay again.

Perfect location downtown. Close to the strip.

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The location was great, the room was also nice. The staff was very friendly.
Cons: Update the washroom in the room.
Location: You are smack dab in the middle of Vancouver. Stanley park is a 15 minute walk away. Shopping just around the corner. Large selection of food.
Everything is within walking distance was able to grab meals late at night or early morning. There are a lot of choices for food. The shopping is also abundant. Definitely recommended.

Very nice but with a weird flaw

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Location - very easy to walk to many areas, and very easy to catch a bus or subway. Nicely appointed rooms.
Cons: The air handling system, as noted above! Also, the pool is small and not very inviting as it is indoors, but that is not an easy thing to change.
Location: In the middle of downtown. Lots of shopping and sight seeing nearby.
This hotel has a lot of pluses: nice quiet room, ample counter space in the bathroom, extremely extremely helpful concierge, great downtown location. The weird flaw has to do with their air conditioning system. At 4:30 am I woke up because the air reeked of cigarettes, despite the hotel being non-smoking (or at least the part where we were booked). The smell was coming from the hallway, which at 4:30 am was deserted, so there was no one actually smoking in the vicinity. Cigarette smoke was somehow being pumped in by the air conditioning, and blowing into the room through the gap under the door. I stuffed a towel under my door to attempt to minimize it. If not for this, I would have rated "excellent" in all categories.
