Nice hotel central to railway and West Vancouver

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: After checkout time, there was an area to store baggage for a period of time if not immediately leaving. We liked the view.
Location: It seemed central with a pool and walkway near the harbor for walking, jogging, cycling.
My daughter and I came from Toronto by Via Rail to visit family. We needed a place to stay central to the station and family in West Vancouver for several nights. This location was ideal, had a beautiful view, had choice of food venues including a Starbucks, gift shop, outdoor pool area. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons: Air conditioning weak
Location: Seawall right outside restaurant ...nice to people watch
All staff were great...room very nice and clean, tons of towels and wash cloths. Bathroom really nice, also clean. Air conditioner works but weak...not gonna get a cold room if you like it that way. Classy place and really nice room at a.great price.

Excellent location

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: The location, the pool, the sight lines of mountains and harbour.
Cons: The hallway corridors visible chipping of woodwork could be touched up.
We stayed at the Westin for our daughters wedding being held in Stanley Park. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather to enjoy the outdoor pool. The location and views were perfect.

Terrible staff and hotel

Honeymoon experience was a complete disaster. Left hotel on our night to a Fairmont property due to terrible staff and service. Would never go back or recommend.

Great location and an amazing view

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Location and a full-service Starbucks right in the lobby.
Cons: Nothing - it was a great experience and we'd definitely go there again!
Location: The hotel is right next to Stanley Park, the seawall, and lots of restaurants on the seawall as well as inland a few blocks.
We paid extra for a sea view room and it was worth every penny; we were on the top floor overlooking the marina, the seaport, and downtown - a brilliant view! There was wifi in the rooms but it wasn't free. However, there was free wireless in the lobby (and, notably, in the lobby Starbucks). There's also a cute little local cafe half a block away along the seawall where we got breakfast a few days. The check-in staff was very helpful in pointing out good places within walking distance to eat. To get to the hotel, we took the "Canada Line" train directly from the airport to Waterfront station, then walked the rest of the way. It was about a 20-25 minute walk along the seawall but perfectly doable so long as too much luggage isn't involved.

Great Location Adjacent to Stanley Park

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Views and proximity. Buffet.
Cons: Room service orders taken by front desk and food not so good.
Location: Aquarium and biking around Stanley Park withing throwing distance practically. Seaplanes just up boardwalk. The Lift Restaurant was superb.
Fantastic views withing abutting Stanley Park. Staff treat you as royalty at front desk. However, room service was terrible quality food, with turkey full of gristle (dark meat) on wrap. We booked three people for King Room assuming that this mean pull out couch. Nope....they brought in roll away after I called office which reduced the size of a not very large room to begin with. Lots of amenities including spa, fitness and pool/hot tub bunched together. Breakfast buffet was awesome but prices are high as we expect everything is on West Coast and Northwest Coast (including BC). Beds were not as comfortable as claims.

Vancouver trip for Canada day

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Lovely location near Coal harbour, great views out to north Vancouver. One of THE great places I have been. The area is well thought out & offers a tranquil atmosphere. You can sit on the waterfront or be more energetic & walk round Stanlley park, which is right next to the hotel. The sea wall is about 8km all the way round. People are friendly & from diverse cultures. Highly recommended.

Very nice hotel. Get a tower room.

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Bed was comfy
Cons: Price should include wifi
Location: Very close and walkable to many sights
Enjoyed my stay. Good modern amenities. My room was not in the towers and looked out to the water. Two downsides. I heard the planes on occasion landing in the bay. Not terribly loud and perhaps even a bit romantic, but if you are super picky sleeper opt for the other side of the building. Also, my room was just above the roof line where the kitchens were at and lots of exhaust smell wafted into my room when i had the window/door open to the outside. Those good be minor items depending on your perspective. My expedia deal didn't include wifi, so i had to pay extra which was 15/day. Very convenient to the water and lots of businesses and sights. Can walk to the aquarium. Walk along the pier. I recommend a sushi place called Miki. I walked there one eve and just waltzed into the bar - late dinner (9:30). Very tasty and very energetic bar/wait staff. Did not eat at hotel. Did have a drink at the bar - no issues.
