Every time I stay at an old-school, traditional hotel like this Marriott, I remind myself how stupid and irrelevant this category of stays is compared to a random short-term condo rental. Not only you vastly overpay for your booking but you get a smaller room with no amenities, no microwave, not even fork & knife to eat your dinner leftovers, no table to play a board game on with your family, no smart TV (so that you buy their pay TV), overpriced parking and a paid wifi (which they will *maybe* remember to waive if you join their stupid loyalty program), which uses an annoying and insecure proxy. The room amenities they do offer (a safe, a wired phone, an alarm clock, a shower cap, plastic water bottles, disposable cups and a daily change of towels) are ridiculously irrelevant (and not sustainable) in this day and age. The experience is worse than a self-check-in condo listing as they try to upsell you with unnecessary services like enhanced Internet, valet parking or luggage porters. On a positive note, I'm glad that they at least moved on from the silly little toiletries which wasted lots of plastic and are now using larger dispensers. The view from the 23rd floor was also quite nice. The location was good if I wanted to sightsee on foot, but was a hassle when driving a car. It's less of a critique of this particular branch, but I'm writing this elaborate essay here to remind myself to steer clear of the whole category of places that this Marriott represents.

My wife and I absolutely loved the service, amenities, food, almost everything to do with this hotel. Would highly recommend for a busy Vancouver vacation. However, the look of the hotel interior and in room entertainment (t.v.) is terribly dated.

Our valet was wonderful ! We had to leave our bags for the day .. he had everything packed in our car and ready for us when we returned. The service all around was amazing

This property is very disappointing for a Marriott. The decor is out of date but most importantly the entire stay was not good: Food in restaurant was cold, hot drinks: coffee, hot chocolate were warm at best. The cocktails were horrible and a few we had to send back with no empathy from staff. The room we were in with our small service dog was so dysfunctional we had to take turns walking around and could not have our travel companions over. Last, we chose the hotel for the Gym, pool, hot tub and after our long day at the suspension bridge we came back to find they shut it down for maintenance. Marriott of my list now. Manager was informed about our experience’s and said sorry

The room was ready well before the stated check-in time and they texted to let me know the room was ready. Upon arrival, staff were quick to help and had already upgraded me to a premium room at no charge. The pool/hot tub have long opening hours and there are also steam and sauna rooms and a gym.

I loved that this property was right downtown within walking distance of everything. The one downside to this hotel was that there was no microwave or mini fridge in our room. The add on food credit was well worth the money for buffet breakfast. Parking was expensive. We parked at the same park aid but in the public park. I would suggest just paying the hotel rate instead of saving the ten dollars. That way, you can catch the elevator to and from the floor is your car is parked on. Otherwise it's a pain to get to the public parking

Lovely hotel
Family stay, pool was warm and room was clean and pretty quiet. Great as room had small fridge for some snacks and yogurt. Only downside was some water issues where the water would cut out.

i can hear the sound of heater fan blowing hard and it was really noisy. also whenever the next suite uses shower or bathroom, we can hear the flushing sound really clear. Staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. enjoyed the service they provided alot but unfortunately the facility is quite dated.
