great view, staff and unique locationPosted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: view, staff location, food, quiet evenings and good value. we'd definitely recommend and return if we were to return to area.
this is a unique location in a unique community with wonderful, friendly people. each level offers priceless views of the lake and community. very quiet, nice morning breakfast, and very reasonable dinner options. the trip to the top of the property is a must see if staying in lower portion.

nice hotel, wonderful view, great staff.Posted Oct 7, 2014
We were blessed to have excellent weather. Visitors w/ out a car should be warned about the hike to town. For us, it was worth the trek.

Beautiful location over looking Lake Como.Posted Oct 4, 2014
Pros: The view and I liked having a porch.
Cons: I would have liked to have known about the funicular. I only found out about it on our last day.
Location: Varenna is a quiet little town on Lake Como. We enjoyed the gardens at the Monastery and enjoyed taking the ferry around the lake.
Hotel is up on a hill overlooking the lake and Varenna. Room had a lovely porch to sit on, drink wine or your choice of beverage, as you watched the sunset over the lake and the mountains. Breathtaking! Also, hotel had great breakfast and we actually had 2 very good dinners there as well. Price was right as well.

Comfortable, quiet, beautifulPosted Sep 22, 2014
Romantic setting. Free parking, always a treat in Europe. Basic good breakfast. 6 min walk to beautiful Varenna. Our room was sparse but clean, beds comfy, if you like firm. Missed breakfast once, they were so nice to make tea and an Americano for us. Recommend the hike from hotel towards castle and continue to Bellano (2 and 1/2 hrs), then take a quick 4 min train back to Varenna. One downside was that we had a standard room with a shared terrace, so you could here noise from people on the terrace. Feel like the price overall good.

Beautiful viewsPosted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: The staff was kind and helpful. The room was immaculate each day. Everything was just as we had hoped.
Location: This was a great place to relax. Cooking class with Chef Moreno was fun; loved cruising the lake with the ease of ferry travel.
We wanted a hotel where we could relax and establish a leisurely pace to our days in Varenna. The hotel fit the bill wonderfully. We stayed in the Teodlinda suite, which has a fabulous patio/portico where we sat and enjoyed beautiful views of the lake and mountains. The staff was very helpful. My husband has knee issues and each evening they were kind enough to supply him with ice enough to ease his knees back into working order.

Fantastic ViewsPosted Sep 15, 2014
Great views from every part of the hotel. Rooms are clean but spartan. Staff are welcoming. Somewhat out of town and the restaurant is basic in the evening but apart from that we had a lovely stay.

Food EXCELLENT, view to die for depending on roomPosted Sep 8, 2014
Sort of hard to find but actually just off the main road. You enter the hotel via an elevator and funicular that looks like a piller in the parking lot. Once we figured that out the experience was flawless! Want to come again as soon as we can.

A walk from town but worth itPosted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: Refer to the above
Cons: Enlarge shower
Location: Location is a walk from town but has the advantage of removing one from the tourist crowd. Views are nothing short of spectacular from the hotel.
Excellent staff, beautiful view, very quiet, nice breakfast, small shower, Varenna is fabulous!

Must visit VarennaPosted Aug 31, 2014
Stunning!! The views are breathtaking and the village has more than enough great places to eat great meals or have a glass of wine. You can ferry to the bright lights, and come home to peace, quiet and stunning views. They could use fans in the rooms just to move air around. Not a big deal.
