Great experiencePosted Sep 20, 2013
I only stayed one night here while in Varna, i couldn't be happier about my stay. From the moment i walked into the hotel i was warmly greeted by the reception. They were so nice to check me in at 8am after a night train from Sofia, so i could freshening up and take a nap before heading out. The breakfast is included. You order whatever you want from the menu and the kitchen will prepare for. Varna is a small city, still this hotel is just by the main square and walking distance to the main church and archeology museum(highly recommended by the way!), and of course to the train station and the sea park. It has a long history, a lot furniture are from 100 years ago when it was opened under the name of Musala Palace. The massage at the Wellness center is the best AND cheapest in all Bulgaria, 35 lv (about 22 bucks) you get a solid one hour classical massage. The therapist used to work in national sports academy. The only flaw is the quilt, they should convert it to international standard by having the double sized quilt instead of the single sized. I'm pretty skinny, can't imagine how big people can cover themselves. A sweet stay, absolutely not to miss!

A charming relic of a bygone agePosted Sep 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Grand Hotel is an oasis of calm in the heart of Varna, make sure you book a room on the top floor for magnificent views over the Black Sea, but don't drink the brandy in the ground floor bar - it's twice the price of the minibar in the room. The restaurant is straight out of an Agatha Christie novel - a bit expensive, but the food and service are faultless, my partner was absolutely bowled over.

Great hotel for family, business or a vacationPosted Feb 19, 2013
This hotel is excellent in every aspect. I stayed here for a weekend and it was my trip to Bulgaria. I do not speak Bulgarian but the staff was fluent in English. The room was standing, the service was perfect and the hotel amenities were outstanding. I willl be staying at this hotel on my next trip in April.

Ideal for city centre & beachPosted Jan 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Superb will definitely be going again. Everyone in the hotel spoke English, nothing was too much trouble. The food was the best we have had in Bulgaria. Centrally located in Varna to everything so didn't need the car at all. Excellent value for money. Jacuzzi, massage and sauna all thoroughly enjoyed.

Great hotel in the center of Varna!Posted Jul 27, 2012
The location is ideal for those who'd want to explore the city - the hotel is located right in the center of Varna within walking distance from all major points of interests and attractions. The staff was extremely helpful! Our room was spacious and in a great condition. Fast internet connection. We opted to get the breakfast served in our room in the morning, which was perfect as we like to sleep in. The breakfast was delicious and served exactly as we asked.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic servicePosted Jun 14, 2012
Pros: Amazing character and the room was enormous
Beautifully restored hotel with a lot of character (the stained glass window at the entrance is worth a visit in itself) though the hotel also has the mod cons too. Can't say how great everything was, exceptionally clean and staff did everything they could to be helpful and provide an excellent service.

Very nice hotel in the middle of Varna. Not cheap considering what it offers compared to modern 5 star hotels, but the atmosphere takes you back in time. Large and clean rooms, great location. Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent restaurant. If you can afford it thiscwould be your best bet in Varna.
