Upgraded old communist place with the best viewsPosted Jun 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
So this place was build by the communists and is probably still run by the same people. Still its upper floors are renovated, the higher standard rooms have amazing views over the city and rooms are large. Staff definitely can do with a course of efficiency but at the price per night - its a fall-back from the more expensive options in town.

Great locationPosted Apr 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
Not satisfied with the stay. The hot water was'n hot enough, that posess a risk of norovirus. I've asked the reception to mend or replace the broken T V in my room. Nothing has been done, maybe because of my short stay. The choice of breakfast buffet was rather small. Fortunatelly there is Costa cafe and local bakeries around offers tasty cheese pastry. Otherwise great location, very close to the sea and shopping lines.

Stay away!Posted Aug 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
I was really disappointed by this hotel. They charged us significantly more than they quoted on both the website and on the sign at reception (including fees and taxes). If you pay by card there is a 9% fee! The hotel was part of a seedy casino and the rooms were uncomfortable and smelt of smoke. There was no sheets or blankets on the bed- we were only provided an inner sheet. The beds were like rocks and the Internet didn't work. The one redeeming feature is it was close to the beach.

Hotel ChernoPosted May 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall, I enjoyed my stay with the Hotel Cherno More (Black Sea), and found it to be a pleasant location very close to the Sea Garden, and downtown Varna, close to restaurants, shops and night life. While the hotel itself is showing its age, and in need of some minor repairs and tender loving care, the room was very clean, and with the exception on one day (partially our fault due to a late start) housekeeping was very prompt and courteous. The overall hotel was clean, but had few to none of the amenities that the average 'western' visitor has come to expect (hot tub, pool, workout center, etc.). The staff was always very friendly and courteous, and we never had any issues. If you are visiting Varna, BG, then I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel, due to a great location, and very good room rates.

Good location--uncomfortable roomPosted Jul 13, 2011 on Hotels.com
The hotel is very close to the public beach and the walk down has lots of good restaurants. The room itself was clean, but very outdated. And the beds were so uncomfortable, we could barely sleep. It this place spent the money to do a nice remodeling, the place would be perfect. But then they would charge what the other expensive hotels charge. In conclusion, cheap and you get what you pay for.
