Aging hotel

The rooms are very basic. The fitness room is dismal. Not really of a 5 star standard. Nice location and nice terrasse. Amazing view.. Disappointing overall though.

The Best of the Best of Gordes!

Posted Jun 1, 2013
Pros: rooms, dinner, service
Cons: cost of massage and other spa services
Location: Simply Spectacular with a quaint village and just a few miles from Red Rocks (Roussillon) and a famous Abbey both must sees.
Fantastic hotel, and probably best in Gordes. At the top of the city with spectacular views, this boutique hotel had a fantastic dining room, excellent attentive staff and a "room with a view" overlooking valleys and historic sites with sunset in mind. The spa was also terrific (I did not indulge in a massage as they are 3 x the price of what we pay in the U.S., and 50% more than the best spas such as Canyon Ranch, so I find it hard to believe it would be worth it unless you have money to burn), but the pool was very relaxing with fun bubbles etc. I highly recommend this hotel. It is fabulous!

No Value

of course Gordes is a nice village to stay in, the hotel itself looks great...but the bed was uncomfortable, you can hear all kinds of noise especially if anyone walks on the floor above, the elevator smelled like mold paint was peeling in the bathroom....5 star hotel really??

Nicest Gordes hotel

Posted Apr 24, 2011
Although this was a very nice place to stay and the views really are the main attraction, I wouldn't say that the location of Gordes is a "must-see" if one is spending a good amount of time in the Provence area. The village is nothing too special and the Mistral winds were pretty uncomfortable during our visit.

Very Good but not a Great Value

Posted Sep 30, 2009
We have been to Provence & Cote d'Azur half a dozen times in as many years and have stayed in several hotels, appartments, bed/breakfasts in various towns across the region. Pros: - Beautiful hotel - Perfectly located in Gordes - Very friendly and helpful staff - View was magnificent. Cons: - Matress was lumpy and uncomfortable - Spa entry for use of indoor pool only was pricy at 25 Euro per person - Temperature in Spa was uncomfortably hot Overall: If you are looking for a high quality hotel in a small village perche and price is not an issue, this is your place. If however you are on a budget, it is a bit pricey.
