This is a truly superb hotel on every level. It is beautifully located on the side of the hilltop on which Gordes perches, and the views from the hotel rooms and dining terrace are magnificent. The decor is stately, with an historical flair, but it has all the modern comforts and amenities one could hope for. We really appreciated the spaciousness of the room and bathroom, the comfortable bed, the heated towel rails and the good wifi. The service is friendly and professional, and, although we did not eat in the Michelin starred retaurant, we found the food in the Citadelle excellent. My only slight disappointment is that, despite having paid a lot for a suite, we were still charged an additional 20 Euros a night for parking. I think that should be included, as additional charges can leave a bad taste in one's mouth.
