Very nice layout and great water view.

Pros: Almost everything
Cons: A decent table in the room at which to eat a meal. Coffee table not very efficient at which to eat breakfast,
Overall very good. Staff polite and efficient. We're it not for the weather an evening walk along the waterfront would have been very enjoyable after dinner. One point, difficult to have breakfast in the room with only a coffee table.

Pros: See above
Cons: See above concerning resto. Exercise room: one bike didn't work and one loud noise and guy that came to help knew nothing! Sauna wasn't working.
We stayed in a Suite, 1 King Bed with Sofabed, Lake View. Impressive room. Big. Clean. BUT Lake view? Not. More like a view of a building in the distance with a a slight, partial view of the lake. We asked to move to a room with an actual view of the lake and were given a much smaller room with a view of the lake but the window was 60% covered by snow and we couldn't see much at all. So we kept our original room, which was clean, quiet and spacious. Called to book for Xmas dinner days in advance and at first were told by maitre D's assistant that it was full, then called back and spoke to maitre D the next day and told we didn't need a reso as we were hotel guests. However, we made one for 7pm anyway just to be safe. When we arrived and checked in, we double-checked with the maitre D, who told us there was no problem but clearly didn't not have our name down. Showed up for dinner at 650 and told by assistant that it was impossible that we had been given a table by the maitre D and that dinner had been booked for weeks. Finally given a table after a short wait. The maitre D, Antonio, and his assistant(name unknown) were on completely different pages when it came to reservation policy and dealing with us. We had a decent and enjoyable meal but there was no need for the reservation run-around and inconsistent info. Food was 7/10 (too much cold stuff on buffet and not a very elaborate or impressive selection) Desserts were quite good and plentiful though. Service 9/10.

Great hotel. The location is good. It is hard to get through traffic and on the ramp in the morning.

Great People hotel rooms need a face lift

Posted Nov 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
Service is great, the grounds and common areas are well kept. Rooms need a pick up. Especially the carpets. Cheap with the in room coffee. Get one coffee each and then they charge you $2 for another cup. Really! Also $3 for bottle water. It's a good thing that they have a great facility and location, and their people are very good. Would stay here again, as there are not many options in the area.

We were the guest of Mary Anne Carswell. We were very happy with just about everything at the Chateau - loved having a suite - the staff was very friendly and attentive - view of the lake was stunning from the dining room - the pork chop I had for dinner one night was the best I'd ever had. (The coffee was disappointing - tasted like instant. Pancakes from the buffet were cold and hard to cut. ) The one real downer was that we had asked for a room suitable for someone with disabilities - e.g. walk-in shower, bars etc) but we didn't get it. When we questioned the front desk they said it wasn't on the reservation. We showed them that it was. They offered to change the room the next day but we didn't feel like having to move all our stuff so we stayed put. Careful attention should be paid to this request because it's very important to anyone with disabilities to have what they require.

Quality of service

The online map to the hotel was unclear, causing one member of my party to drive around in circles for almost an hour before arriving. I had booked two rooms: one for myself and one for the other members of my party. My room was beautiful and perfect in every way. I particularly enjoyed the jacuzzi bath and the lake view. The other room was unsatisfactory. I had booked a disability room for the two nights, but when my party arrived they were not given a disabiltiy room; there was no record of that detail of the booking, they were told. Later, I asked to have my bill include the incidentals for the other members of my party, but that message did not get through to the people at the front desk. Lastly, the pool and sauna were lovely but I found the signage confusing: the entrance to the pool and sauna was through a door marked "Men's Washroom"!
