“Angsana Velavaru”
At arrival the receptionists were so friendly.. After that they turned to be slow in responding to our requests and have very poor communicational skills. They only have 2 restaurants and 1 bar. One of the restaurants opens in certain days of the week and requires advanced booking. We booked a table 2 days ahead but when we went to the restaurant there was no booking for us! We ended up eating in our Villa!! The other restaurant has a very poor menu options with no seafood dishes at all! And the food is below average. The daily breakfast buffet lacks the minimum hygienic standards as there were small flies flying all around the food and sticking to some. I had to survive on soup and bread with butter for most of the meals! The Diving center staffs are so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the snorkeling gears they have are in bad condition. We had to change the ones we had 3 times yet it was crapy! The only good facility in this hotel was the Spa. Great reception and service. Yet it had 2 problems. The treatment rooms are outdoor, so you can smell the cooking odor coming from the island’s kitchen which is a big turn off for the relaxing mood. Also there’s a play ground for kids just outside the entrance of the Spa so if there are kids playing –mostly there are- you’ll end up hearing the kids’ screams instead of relaxing! Our visit to the Maldives could've been much better if we went to another resort! We would never recommend this resort to any of my friends or family.
“very expensive but once in a life time experience”
Very expensive compared to other resorts. Scuba diving is relaxed and much fish to see. Recommend the all inclusive deal since the meals are very expensive. Meals are also oriented to satify the Asian community. You still can get pizza, hambergers and good stir frys. The accommodations are simple and clean. Needs better seating furniture in the villa and appropriate table to play cards or games. The resort is specialized for couples. Children and singles will find the time a bit boring unless you do scuba dive, wind surf and kayak. The staff if accommodating, polite and friendly. Dont forget, you are on a small island for the duration of your stay. Also it will cost you $640US dollards extra for the sea plane ride from Male on top of all the other expenses.
