Worst hotel of my life. Rude/Disorganized/UncleanPosted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: This place is a revolving door for foreign tourists arriving and departing each day on buses. Individuals or families are not valued and are insulted
Cons: Nothing as long as the current owner/manager is there. He refused to come down and give us a room and lied and said expedia never sent the booking
Location: Out in the middle of nowhere, and yet no solitude/peace due to tour buses. Their restaurant is overpriced and it costs extra for their lousy internet.
My family booked this hotel as a half-way point between our destination and home. We were ten people traveling in two cars, and had a car problem in Italy that resulted in us being delayed several hours. When we arrived at the hotel is was around 11:45, which is after regular check-in times. The hotel is advertised as having a 24 hour reception desk. When I walked in with my family, (including my 78 year old father and three children under the age of 6) we were all very tired and ready for bed. We called a telephone number for after-hours assistance, and the "gentleman" who answered the phone told me "you are late, and we don't have any room for you, we are fully booked." I told him that in my hand was a print out of the confirmation of my room reservation, which stated "no phone calls or emails are required; this email confirms your nonrefundable room reservation." He (untruthfully) claimed that expedia never sent him a reservation, and said that he didn't care what emails I had -he never received any reservations. We waited 45 minutes before somebody finally helped us into rooms that "magically" appeared. On the way there, they walked us into the room room, where they walked in on sleeping people in their bed. We awoke at 0600 the next morning b/c of the noise of tour buses and throngs of people in the parking lots. When we tried to talk to the owner the next morning, he insulted us, said he didnt care what we thought or left as reviews, and told us to get out.

Great HotelPosted Aug 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed here for 2 nights whilst driving around Europe. Loved the quiet country location - very peaceful. We ate at the hotel on both nights, and found the food to be top class - really good quality. We had a family room, which was very spacious & comfortable - we also had our own balcony, which was great to sit at & look at the stars of an evening. Overall, a great hotel.

Wonderful country family vacationPosted May 30, 2012 on Hotels.com
our family loved this hotel. the grounds are full of nature, animals (the quite kinds), it was almost a working farm set on a wonderful river. The food was very organic and locally produced. We should have stayed much longer and plan on returning. The town was nice and friendly. the family room (with full size bunk beds- didn't know those existed) was plenty of room for the family of 5.

We picked this place for just an overnight stay on the road because it was the cheapest option we saw. Much to our surprise it was very nice. It had a scenic setting just north of the Karavanke mountains. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the owners were friendly. It is definitely a place we would consider again for a weekend getaway.
