Romantic hotel in Venice

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Location, romantic ambiance, great service. Very good breakfast included.
Cons: The plumbing in the bathroom was a little noisy at times and the walls were a little thin, but not a major issue.
Location: Major attractions are all within 5-10 minute walking distance: San Marco square, the Grand Canal, major shopping areas.
Overall, AD Place is a wonderful, romantic, boutique hotel, tucked away on a small street next to a canal. Everyday we could listen to the singing gondoliers pass by our window. Service was excellent and the room is comfortable. We were very pleased with our stay.

Nice Hotel, Friendly Staff & Good Location

Posted Sep 10, 2014
Cons: The only thing we could have done without was the potpourri scent in the room. It was nice in the begging but a bit overwhelming throughout the night
The Hotel was in a great location. Room was nice and clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Upon our arrival, we checked into our room, one of the staff members brought up two complimentary wine drinks along a snack for my husband and I. They recognized it was my birthday, this was a very nice and thoughtful gesture.

Unique boutique hotel

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Most unique place we have ever stayed in. Stayed in the loft on rio terra dei Assassini. A bit of a hike walking from the lobby but totally worth it, the room was amazing. If you like unique places, this hotel is for you. Our room was decorated in bright pink and green furniture and looked like something out of Alice in wonderland. But if you are looking for more traditional hotel decor, this may not be for you

Excellent hotel close to main attractions

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Stayed at Ad Place on for two nights in August 2014. The staff were more than happy to check us in early and we were provided with a complimentary upgrade. The room was on the ground floor and while sitting by the window you would see numerous gondolas float past. Hotel is within 10 mins of St Marks Square and close to all the high end retail stores such as Gucci and Chanel (look out for the fake bags being sold right outside each shop, the shops don't seem to mind but the Police did) Breakfast at the hotel was plentiful and the staff were very attentive and able to answer any questions that came to mind. If I were to return to Venice I would definitely consider Ad Place once more.

Beautiful hotel centrally located

Posted Jul 27, 2014
This is the third time I've stayed at Hotel Ad Place Venice, so there must be something that brings me back. Ad Place describes itself as a "charming hotel" and it really is. Small, comfortable and run with great efficiency by a friendly and helpful staff, it is located five minutes' walk from the Giglio vaporetto stop and at most ten minutes' walk from Piazza San Marco, where every visitor to Venice will want to begin. A memorable feature of the hotel is the delicious buffet breakfast, served in the Art Deco central room.

A nice hotel

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: Convenient location, clean room.
I stayed there for 3 nights. Its location is more convenient than I had expected. From the train station or airport you can take water bus (line 1) or Alilaguna to Giglio and from there it is just a 5-minute easy walk to the hotel. And the hotel room also exceeds my expectation. It is spacious (especially the bathroom) and very clean compared to a typical hotel in Venice at this price range.

Disappointment.

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Everything, save the attitude of the staff.
Location: Free trip to Murano glass factory - one way. Near to the Realto bridge, San Marko square.
Not value for money. I made my reservations early but they still stuck me in a very small room, I could hardly move in the tiny shower cubicle which is a triangle, Breakfast - Not good at all, the very basic of basics for breakfast. Quite central and easy access to the tourist attractions.

A hidden gem with wonderful staff

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Unique style with comfortable rooms and a great selection for breakfast. The hotel staff were all friendly, very helpful and spoke good English.
Cons: We had a couple of very minor issues with our room which could have been avoided if the room facilities had been checked a little more thoroughly.
Location: Excellent central location for all that Venice has to offer, only 7mins walk from St. Mark's square.
We arrived by private water taxi right to the door of the hotel. The staff who checked us in were very welcoming and happy to answer any questions. We were given a map and they marked the best route to get to St. Mark's, best place for ice cream and a couple of recommendations for places to eat. We were shown to our room and our luggage followed shortly after. The room was stylish and comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved hearing the Gondoliers singing as we were getting ready in the morning. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a wide selection to cater for all tastes and the breakfast serving times catered for the early and late riser alike. At night the reception area is illuminated by a mass of candles which was very romantic. This hotel is a hidden gem and one of the best we have stayed in. We would love to stay here again on our next visit to Venice, whenever that may be.

A wonderful way to end...

Posted Jun 20, 2014
Pros: It had the charm of Venice with a modern edge. Enjoyed the breakfast. We expected a continental style and were pleasantly surprised with complete one.
Cons: Once the construction across the street is finished, it will be perfect. I realize that is not under the control of the hotel.
Location: Great location. Close to St. Mark's, but not noisy. Allowed us to see more of Venice in a short stay.
We had a great time in Venice, especially at AD Place. Right from the start the staff greeted us with a big smile and great restaurant suggestions. Our room was exactly as pictured and very clean. I would highly recommend Ad Place. We are also going to look into their new Ad lofts...
