Fantastic B&B

Posted Jun 8, 2014
This B&B was booked last minute and was absolutely perfect for our four night stay in Venice. Fantastic location right near San Toma Vaporetto stop and the traghetto and only a 10 minute walk from the Piazzale Roma (bus station) and the Santa Lucia train station. We were emailed a code to enter as we arrived after 1.30pm. Room was perfect for our needs, large and well furnished with private bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities (a rarity in Europe). The wifi was good if a little slow at times but easily sufficient. Breakfast was superb, we had orange juice, coffee and croissants, toast, breads and cheese each morning although they do have cereal as well. Marco is a host, he appears to speak many languages and is so polite and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Venice. Highly recommended.

Great location -- if you can find it

Posted Dec 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is very nice, with very courteous proprietor. Make sure to write down the entrance code that they email you -- or you won't be able to get in! It's within a stone's throw of the San Toma bus stop, so if you choose to walk, have a map that takes you THERE, then backtrack a little to the B&B, knowing that if you go more than 200 yards you missed it. That would have helped to know. The breakfast is skimpy if you are used to an egg or meat -- but if continental (bread and coffee) suffices, it is fine and even elegant. One thing that was nice about the room is actually having a couple chairs to sit in other than the desk chair -- which is surprisingly rare in Italy. There are nice restaurants nearby, and the walk to the Academy is doable. For full-scale touring, getting a day pass for the ferry is advisable -- and these are not cheap, so take that into account. For me it was worth it.

Great location, great service.

Pros: Location, service, accommodations, cleanliness.
Cons: Cannot think of anything.
Location: From Piazetta Roma, the Vaporetto takes you to St. Toma and not even a block up, 3rd. door on the left is the hotel. Easy with luggage.
The access to the hotel is very easy and Marco is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was as good as expected. Limited but sufficient. Very comfortable bedroom with small balcony. Renovated bathroom. Everything very clean. Great location. Easy access everywhere. Venice is a City to walk and walk we did !!!

A great stay in Venice

We had a wonderful stay at Al Campaniel and would highly recommend it. It is perfectly located near a main water bus stop making travel around the city easy. The bed was comfortable, room clean and airconditioned as a bonus. Breakfast is simple but nice. We would stay again. It was one of the best night sleep we had on our trip!

Good B&B to stay in Venice

Posted Jul 2, 2011
We stayed one night here in June 2011. This bed & breakfast place is about 2 minutes walk from the San Roma station when you take the canal boat. The hotel is small, no elevator, but is clean and well-maintained. They provide free breakfast on the 3rd floor. Breakfast includes bread, croissants, jams, cheese, juice/tea/coffee. There’s no TV in the room. Marco, the inn-keeper, is accommodating and speaks good English. He just looks so serious and doesn’t smile.
