Close to train and bus station and Grand Canal

Posted Feb 13, 2015
Pros: WiFi, location and English channels
Cons: Visible sign indicating it is a hotel. The outside appearance of the hotel needs a complete face lift. The housekeeping needs vast improvement.
Location: Near to public transportation, train, bus and grand canal. 20 to 25 minutes to walk to Rialto and San Marco Square.
An okay "hotel" in terms of location and facilities.Close to train and bus station and the Grand Canal. However, the outside appearance of the "hotel" is terrible. From the outside, you will never have guessed it is a hotel. There is no hotel sign outside and the outer wall was patched. The inside is okay, yet you will need to climb a few stairs. We would not recommend to the older couples. The WiFi works fine and the TV has English Channels such as BBC and CNN. The breakfast is okay, except that I tried one slice of salami which turned out to be bad. To their credit, after being informed of the incident, they replaced the salami the next day. There were other unpleasant incidents during our two nights stay. The housekeeping definitely needs over haul ! The day we checked in, near the narrow walkway outside of our room, a vacuum machine was uncharacteristically placed there, blocking our way. It stayed there for a few hours. Inside our room, near to the clothes hanger by the door, there were spider webs on the wall and it stayed there up till the day we checked out. I wonder if it is still there ! The housekeep made our bed, but did not replace the towel (which we did not care, however, they did not even bother to fold them up and left them discarded. All in all,it is okay if you do not mind the spider webs and the spider behaved ! We will give credit to their WiFi and English channels and convenient location.

Dear Mr Bill, thanks for your feedback. First of all I regret to inform you there is the name outside here, as there's always been. One consideration about our walls: have you seen Venice is an old town, very humid, where walls show their ages? It's normal to see facades not immaculate, as you'd need to paint them for in full evety 4/5 years (which is very expencive). Inside the hotel is well and very well kept, and we just apologize if you found out spiders since our housekeepers must control all cleanings properly. Finally, concerning salami, it's very strange you thought it was bed, as we cut salami every day and throw away the old uneaten one...so... Thanks

Posted Jan 21, 2015
Great value; great staff; great breakfast The walls are thin; so you hear everything from ro om next door; but this is to be expected in such Old pallace in Venice! I would recommend to anyone looking for a nice hotel in this beautiful city☺

Venecia

good place to stay but no hot water

Posted Dec 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
hotel didnt tell us they only provided the hot water until 11pm. So when we got back from dinner around 10.30pm, hot water was almost gone!2 friends of mine had a cold shower. Even i took shower the next morning, water still not hot at all. Maybe not a good idea to stay here in winter. other than that, everything was good!
