Clean, safe and in the heart of the city. We loved it! heads up, there are a lot of stairs to climb to get to the apartment. Other than that, great place.

We have stayed in hotels in five cities in Europe over the past two weeks, and Antica Casa Coppo was the best, by far. Our room was beautiful, spotless, and much bigger than advertised. The staff was friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make sure that our stay went well. The location is great, with a ton of options to eat/shop/site see within walking distance. I would highly recommend Antica Casa Coppo!

First, Orbitz showed this as a hotel. This is a guesthouse which does not have a full time front desk. If I did not have my US phone with me, I would not have been able to check in. There is no way to contact the hotel after you book. Atleast, I could not call to confirm my reservation. On my way to Venice, I got a WhatsApp message asking me what time I would reach the hotel and then I was send a self checkin code. It’s the code to the keypad on the door. The room is open and the keys are kept in the room. The room had stuff in the drawer that previous visitors left and was not cleaned. When I reached there, I thought we are the only one in the entire building as it was super quiet. It’s a little isolated as well. There are no elevators, so you need to take all your bags up a steep stair. The AC did not work the first night as it has to be turned on from the reception. If you open the windows, all mosquitoes will enter the room. The mattress was rough and looked very old. In short, if you stay at 4 star and above, I would think that you might not like this place. We got used to it the second day. The first night, we were uncomfortable. It’s close to at mark cathedral and major attractions.

Not a hotel. A guesthouse only. No amenities. Not in a convenient area. We were on the 2nd floor and no elevator so carrying luggage up the stairs was difficult. Good for young healthy and vibrant 20 year olds. Not good for seniors. No breakfast. No tub. Just a narrow shower. The AC did not work consistently. I would not stay here again!

Our stay here was excellent! The room was a bit smaller then we expected, but we were not in Venice to stay indoors. The place was extremely clean, and it was very easy to check in and check out.

I was not able to check in. ‘Hotel’ never answered the door , nor the phone , nor sent instructions at any time , nor called me. Horrible experience in the middle of Venice under extreme cold and rainy conditions. Don’t book this place!

Comfortable, quiet stay in a convenient location
This was an older hotel (I think most of those in Venice are older) but located in a quieter pocket of the area, away from tourists but also within 5 min walking distance of main sites and river transit stops like the Rialto bridge. Check-in was fine but our room wasn't ready until 3:30. The hotel was a bit tricky to find (we had Google maps so only took an extra minute) but was around the corner from a nice restaurant called Ai Mercanti. The size of the room itself is a bit small- what you would expect if you were staying in London or New York, but it did the job and we didn't spend much time in the room anyway. We stayed here in late September and I think all of Venice is prone to mosquitos around that time, so when you check in to the room, just close all the windows first, and before going to sleep, see if you can kill any that are hiding out near the ceiling (pretty easy to find since the walls are a clean white).

Good but was expecting a bit more.
The hotel was great in terms of authentucity and quiet location but our room was a lot smaller than the one advertised on the net and i would have liked a fresh fruit option at breakfast.

Had difficulty finding it initially as it's tucked away...perhaps a couple of signs with arrows would help future travelers. Close to everything including great restaurants and cafes, and shops. Very clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast is available for a fee if ordered in advance. Would stay here again.

CONS: There is no staff at this hotel after 8pm, so make sure that you can check in by then (our trains were running late as they often do, and it was a close call for us). When we asked the front desk person if she could book us a water taxi back to the airport the day before our flight, long story short she did not actually book one or seem particularly interested in helping us, so we ended up booking our own, which didn't work, and so that morning when it didn't show up, a different front desk person called a water taxi for us. Another long story short, the staff could have handled this much better and caused us no stress if they had simply explained things to us, but instead, they didn't seem interested in explaining or helping us and so we were stressed about getting to the airport and felt like they didn't care. One more con: The pillows were very uncomfortable. PROS: Air conditioning, nice room, nice bathroom, nice interior, decent breakfast, good and central location.

Dear Anonymus, we are sorry to have to respond you in this way, but the things you are describing simply didn't happen here. To book a taxi for our Guests is a thing that we do regularly, there would have been no reason to refuse a Guest to book a taxi or any other service, there's absolutely no advantage at all for us to do this. The times of our reception are well explained on line and by us directly to all our Guests, but we have also options for late arrival, and in general we don't have any report of Guests with delayed trains that have not been accomodated with their requests. Wether you are confusing us with an other hotel, or you are simply working with your fantasy in order to discredit our property, or you are one of those Guests who don't ask for anything and then blame us for not having read into your mind what you needed. In any of these cases this is absolutely a fake review and if anything bad happened at all during your stay with us we beg you to contact personally, identifying you, and explain what happened and why are you now lying anonymously about us on here. Thank you

Great location, about 5 min walk to San Marco. The guy who was there when we checked in was very helpful. It was his first working day yet he tried his best to support our need. He even helped us carry our luggage up to the room in the third floor. The mattress and pillow were pretty old though. Breakfast was simple but nice.

This hotel is perfectly located, right behind Rialto bridge and 5 mins walk from San Marco square. It is compact and clean with an adequate breakfast. Great value for money. Would recommend and would stay there again.

This hotel was easy to find, has friendly staff who are eager to help and provide good service. The room (on the first floor) was clean and adequate in size for our short stay. Access to the hotel was by an electronic key so late nights were not a problem. A takeaway breakfast was provided when we had to leave early on the last day.

Romantic weekend
Great location close to Rialto bridge, St Marks square, shops, restaurants and bars. Hotel was clean and warm with friendly staff, breakfast was good. Clean bedding and towels every day, Would highly recomend for price and location. Had a fantastic few days and got engaged in the process, couldn't be better. Only thing missing in the room was tea and coffee making facilities, other than that, a good little hotel.

Easy to find from Rialto. Staff helpful but seemed rushed when we arrived. Beds could be comfier; spacious room & bathroom. Good breakfast. Central to San Marco & a short walk to vaporetto.

Do not stay here
We stayed for 3 nights during the film festival in August. Getting to the hotel was a nightmare. The instructions on their website were horrible. They only make sense if you live there and are already familiar with their streets and how they work. It is located down a tiny little back alley. Once we got inside, it was absolutely nothing like any of the pictures on their website. The "foyer" only has enough room for the front desk and one person to stand and there are only stairs to some of the rooms, no elevators. However, we had a room on the main floor. Every time someone came in or out of the main door separating the rooms from the lobby (which was frequently, as their laundry room and staff bathroom were also located back here) the door would bang around on it's lock. Having the breakfast buffet located just outside the main door as well, there was dishes smashing and people yelling to one another starting at 6:30am, even though the buffet does not start until 8:30. The room was 100% misrepresented on their website, as was the general layout, feel and overall upkeep. I did not see anything in the hotel that I had seen in pictures from their website or expedia's. We also put a "privacy please" sign on our door, which was removed the second day by one of the staff members and we haven't seen it since. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. . We will never be back.

Little bit of Venice
Very quiet location but within a few minutes into the hustle and bustle, clean room, although staff were very noisy when they arrived in the morning, so the ground floor room isn't the best! breakfast was nothing to rave about, and tables a litle small for a plate , cup, glass and a basket with croissants in, but was ok.

A Great Value in Venice
We visited Venice in November 2011. The hotel location was great; halfway between San Marco and the Rialto Bridge. The staff tried to be so helpful even with limited English. They have the best breakfast at a hotel of this kind: coffee to order (espresso, cappuchino, latte, hot chocolate), hard boiled eggs, sliced ham and salami, flavored yougurt, heated rolls and croissants etc. Okay, the room is small-did you come to Venice to stay in your room? The hotel was fully booked but very quiet. I would stay here again anytime!

Room was clean & OK...BUT if you speak english DO NOT bother or expect "Laurie" the receptionist to smile or to be of any help. Main foyer is very tight. Watch out on the steps going up and down...you could get injured. It would seem that the staff would be better trained on UNDERSTANDING basic english along with speaking basic english. We did not feel very welcome.

We arrived to a wonderfully clean room. The staff personnel were extremely helpful and spoke multiple languages. The location was wonderful...watching the sun set each night. The only problem was the small bathroom...I don't mean space, I mean height. Other than that, it is a wonderful place to stay while in Venice.

Lovely way to start the Italian tour.
This is a lovely place to stay in when in Venice. The room was a pleaseant surprise large and airy with large bathroom with hairdryer. Breakfast was in the small reception area/bar and consisted of a continental with personal service as to what type of hot drink required. Our stress just melted away. You are within easy walking distance to everything. Just don't forget to download the instructions off their website on how to get to the place as it is a warren. Be aware also that there are some steps to negotiate with your luggage. We arrived by water bus and it was easy. Just don't buy the 24hr ticket when you arrive at 10pm as you will waste time. Buy a single for and then but you r 24hr/48hr ticket the next day. Only dissapointing thing was the scaffolding in St Marks square..Grrr
