“Wish we knew?”

We arrived around 7PM and nobody was there to let us in or check us in. We phoned the B&B and a gentleman answered (who was obviously not on the premises) said that the person in charge probably stepped out and would return shortly. We waited several hours and nobody returned and the man who originally answered the B&B phone stopped answering. It was not that late in the day, and if we were supposed to call and let them know our exact arrival time, (which is difficult when you are on vacation), then this request should have been expressed at the time our reservation was made. Although the B&B is somewhat near the main square, it is not in the most scenic of areas........situated in a corner of a small side street. Fortunately for us, Expedia was able to find us a hotel on a canal, for a few dollars more.
