A good base for exploring Venice.Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: Excellent position. Comfortable room. Tea/coffee tray available on request. Room safe useful. Breakfast excellent. Staff very helpful.
Location: Excellent location - close to Piazzale Roma and vaporetto stops.
An enjoyable short (4 night) break - just long enough to get an insight into Venice. We were surprised how busy it was in the main tourist areas for mid-October. Other areas e.g. Burano and San Georgio less busy but definitely well worth visiting. Transport via vaporetto was impressive and tourist card good value. We found the detailed timetable covering all routes very helpful. Reasonably priced standard meals available away from the most popular tourist spots. We felt safe throughout our stay.

Best Western OlimpiaPosted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Though near a busy location, the hotel is quiet and serene.
Location: The location is convenient to Piazzale Roma, where there are many transportation options including most of the Vaporetto lines.
The entire staff were the most friendly and helpful of my entire trip through Italy. The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom modern, the breakfast buffet extensive and fresh, and the bar area cozy. If I return to Venice I will stay there again.

Lovely Hotel & Great location for transport linksPosted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Location, traditional style with all modern requirements, great staff
Location: All of Venice & it's attractions can be seen either on foot or by vaporetta.
We only stayed one night before flying home. It's a Lovely hotel in Venetian style with all the modern requirements. Our room was ground level straight out into a pretty & peaceful garden, perfect to sit out in for breakfast, afternoon tea or evening drink after a busy day sightseeing. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We would use again in the future. Close to Piazzale Roma for the airport bus to Marco Polo airport.

Lovely HotelPosted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: The hotel was lovely and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a very nice room, breakfast was plentiful and delicious something for al
Location: The Vaporetto was a 5 min walk so it was easy to get to St Marks square. 10 minute taxi to Cruise Terminal cost 40 € well worth it direct to Terminal
The Olimpia hotel was the right choice for us as it was very convenient for the Cruise Terminal. I contacted the Hotel by e-mail before hand and enquired about transfers from Marco Polo Airport to the Hotel. Marta was extremely helpful and arranged for a Taxi to meet us at the airport which made life easier when you are having to deal with suitcases etc. The cost for 4 adults and 6 suitcases was 60€, well worth it. There was a lovely garden where we were able to sit and relax enjoying the complimentary bottle of Procesco which the hotel gave us. We will definitely stay here again when we book our next cruise.

Within easy reach of everything. Perfect.Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable room in old style, but very modern bathroom. Loved the quiet garden, where we ate breakfast. A rarity I think.
Cons: Oddly, I can't think of anything!!!
Location: Ideal location. Swift transfer on bus from airport to Piazalle Roma terminus, over 1 bridge. Vaporetto terminus also nearby, so easy to get around.
Comfortable room, spotlessly clean throughout hotel. Huge choice at breakfast. Smiles and friendly greetings from all reception staff from the minute we arrived. We stayed for five nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Location ideal for visiting all parts of Venice and Island on Vaporetto.

Lovely hotel near main train stationPosted Sep 12, 2014
Beautiful interior decor in hotel close to San Marco main train station so ideal for not having to trapse luggage cases onto ferries (within 5 min walking distance). Free drink voucher on arrival nice touch, very comfortable room, very friendly staff. Would certainly recommend. Large superior room and great location.

Lovely hotel within walking distance to trains/busPosted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Our room was lovely with enough room for the 3 of us. Rooms in Europe are typically small and the Olimpia room was on the larger side of those we saw.
Cons: A walking map from the train/bus station would have helped.
Location: Most people stay closer to St. Marks and the central areas; so we walked more than most to see some sights.
We stayed 2 nights prior to a cruise. We walked with bags from the train to the hotel; it was a little tricky crossing crowded bridges but we didn't rush and were fine. The hotel is beautiful and peaceful - the latter being the surprise in crowded Venice.

Ideally situated for the cruise terminal.Posted Jul 31, 2014
Pros: Basically, everything.
Cons: The only downside was the size of the lift but nothing can be done about this due to the constraints of the building.
Location: The Grand Canal is only a short walk from this hotel but water taxis pass right by on the Rio del Tolentini, alongside which are a number of trattoria
This hotel is ideally situated for the Venice Cruise Terminal, been very close to Piazzale Roma which is the road/ rail transport hub for Venice. Inside, the hotel is very tastefully decorated in 18th century Venetian style. Our rooms were spotlessly clean, quiet and very restful and the staff were very friendly and polite. The only downside was the lift was very small, requiring us to carry our luggage up the stairs as we could only get two cases in at a time (we were a party of 5 with a two year old child so we had 5 full size cases, two rucksacks, 3 pieces of hand luggage and a child's buggy!) and the lift was very slow. Despite that however, our stay at the Best Western Olimpia Venice was delightful, our room overlooked the rear garden area which was lit up at night. The hotel was only a short stroll from the Grand Canal and had easy access into the heart of Venice. The Breakfast was exceptional, catering for all tastes and the food was constantly replenished. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for anyone overnighting in Venice before or after a cruise!

Charming hotel near the train station in Venice.Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: The staff was great. They arranged for a taxi to pick us up and get us to the cruise terminal. The taxi driver managed our luggage effortlessly.
Location: The Piazzale Roma and water taxis were close as well as the train station and cruise port.
Venice is difficult to navigate with luggage due to the bridges. This hotel is fairly close. The garden area for breakfast was great. Our room was small for three people.
