Quiet, good exercise walking from pierPosted Oct 31, 2013
The hotel is in Lido so a bit far from downtown, S Mark, but quiet and good price.

Nice place but too farPosted Oct 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
The building and staff is great but if you want to go to Venice to see the sites and tourist around. This hotel is far from the regular tourist sites. It takes you about 45 minutes to get there via the public transport and another 20 to get to San Marco square.

nice break from the bustle of st marksPosted Sep 28, 2013
Location: Note: when you get off the boat from St Marks - its a 15-20 minute walk to the hotel... (easy - flat - in a straight line - ...but 20 minutes)
If you're looking for a break from the sea of humanity that is 'downtown' Venice (for those not familiar - Venice in the summer - from the Cruise docks to the Rialto to St Marks Square it is like your worst christmas shopping at the mall experience - without the climate control) - consider the island of Lido... although during summer beach months it too fills up. My most recent visit was in September and the Lido is a peaceful place with tree lined streets and quiet neighborhoods. The main street has enough cafe's and gelato stands to keep it interesting (25k people live on the island - so it's not exactly off the beaten path) and from the dock - the boats head over to St Marks every 15 minutes or so (about a 20 minute boat ride). The Villa Mabapa has a shaded outdoor sitting/dinning area that looks out towards Venice - and the sunsets across the water are wonderful. The hotel itself is a clean and comfortable place to spend a night or two and more than serviceable for those whose days are out and about - and are looking for a pleasant - if not fancy place to lay their head at night... jj

Quiet, relaxing, comfortable stay: FANTASTICPosted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: quiet, clean, the right amount of luxus, attentive hosts
Cons: ensure all bikes are repaired
Location: bike ride, enjoy Venice as well as the island Lido.
2 nights stay at the hotel was the best choice ever: we were there during 25-30 degrees Celsius, Venice was as busy as ever, the Biennale meant so much walking, excitement - how fantastic was it to just step in the Waterbus and cross to the Lido - another 15min walk at the water and we entered a refugium of quieteness, cleanliness with loads of comfort and attentive hosts. when staying put on the Lido, there were bikes available at the hotel for a relaxing ride across the island. the hotel-own beach service we didn't use but it's something to do next time. The bar service is fantastic!

Good hotel for the beach in VenicePosted Aug 17, 2013
Standard Best Western hotel with a good sized room and bathroom. Great location on Lido, Venice with hotel access to the nearby beach for a reasonable cost. Great location for sightseeing Venice but staying away from the crowds.

Disappointing Best WesternPosted Jul 28, 2013
Room not as described - items included in description not left in the room eg sliippers, robe, no milk with kettle. Poor modern room not the elegant one descibed- very disappointing. Car park poor - vehecles blocked in, hotel had to move cars to let you out. No table available for breakfast had to wait for one. For one day only , ferry not operating due to annual event - hotel made no attempt to let us know. We got several bites whilst staying here not sure if from the bedroom. Location OK, Breakfast food OK.
