“An Island of Calm in only forested area of Venice, Italy”
This hotel is in a quiet, mostly residential area, with lovely walkways from the St. Elena vaporetto stop, which are canopied with full grown shade trees (the only such area in all of Venice) . It is a wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle of most areas of Venice. It is within walking distance of St. Mark's Square. There are several cafes and a delicious 'pizza parlor' in the neighborhood for informal dining. The hotel is quiet - and it's history includes being a convent school prior to its present use. The facilities are comfortable, the decor is subdued and all amenities more than adequate. It is highly recommended. The breakfast buffet provides a variety of choices - all good.
“Serene Retreat!”
When we come back to Venezia we will definitely stay at Sant'Elena. It's location in a residential and forrested neighborhood was such a treat to come back to every day after all the hussle and bustle of Venezia proper. The hotel breakfasts were so plentiful with eggs, meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, fruits, cereal, yogurt, juices, every hot and cold beverages you could even imagine. A nearby market had wonderful fruit, vegetables, snacks, beverages. An outdoor cafe provided good meals, especially pizza. It was relaxing to see children playing soccer, locals jogging and playing tennis. It was refreshing to take the vaporetto to and from the Sant'Elena. Every evening we looked forward to the wonderful walk through the trees (including magnolias) listening to cicadas and people enjoying dinner al fresco.
“Not too convenient”
This hotel is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood--there is nothing going on here. We had an issue with the cleanliness of the bathroom--mold on tile and grout in shower. The staff did address it but not o a point of actually being clean. Within several vaparetto stops we were in the center of the city so the location was not terrible but the neighborhood needs attention.
“Great find in Venice area”
This hotel was perfect. It is in a park like setting far enough away from San Marco to truly relax but close enough to tour the area. The room was big and very comfortable. The breakfast was superb. We would definitely go back again.
“Nice walk to the city's attraction”
My husband and I loved the walk to St. Mark's square and Doge's palace everyday. It is about a mile one way. (It helps with gelato calories) What we really love here was the quiet neighborhood, relaxing environment away from the tourist crowd. It was very peaceful. The room was a bit small to what we paid for but it's okay. It was clean. The staff were nice and helpful, the food was good. I would recommend this to our friends.
“Lovely getaway from the crowds”
Hotel was very modern and the staff was great. The rooms were small, but very clean. High water pressure in the shower, free internet, lovely dark hardwood floors and breakfast in the garden were some highlights of the hotel. If you are not afraid of getting a nice walk in everyday, its about a 20min walk from the main attractions. This journey can be taken by boat as well, for about 3euro. The neighborhood around the hotel was very quaint, a real italian community. It makes you feel at home!
“Good location, would recommend”
The location of this hotel is kinda far from San Marco Square but still within walking distance (about 2 miles I think) but there is a "bus" stop on the other end of the park if you don't feel like walking far. The hotel staff was very helpful and we were also greeted with a smile and a boun giorno (or buona sera). The room was kinda small but this is usual for Europe. The in room safe was also small (we were not able to fit a 15in laptop in it) But these were minor inconveniences and do not really take away from the hotel. The breakfast was great, contained both hot and cold items. Wireless internet slowed down on occasion but overall was good.
“Great little boutique hotel”
The hotel was clean and modern. It is close enough to the hussle and bussle of St. Marks square but distant enough to get away from all the tourists and enjoy the beauty and calmness of Venice's surroundings. The breakfast was Amazing and is included with the room rate. The hotel staff was very helpful and even assisted with getting a water taxi at the contracted rate to take us to the port. I would recommend this hotel to others and will stay here again.
“Can't wait to go back”
Everything was beyond my expectation. The breakfast was great
“Great room arranges and very well served breakfast. Nice Hotel and Staff!”
The attention was great. The room with arranges for our children and the breakfast included was the best to remark. We really enjoy the stay.
