The hotel is just blocks from San Marco. Fabulous location, walk to major sights, shopping, vaporetto/water taxi, restaurants, etc. The room was spacious, very comfortable bed, full tub, nice hot water, but still quiet. We were on the top floor and had a cute balcony with a nice view of the neighboring rooftops.

The hotel was an excellent choice for us. The rooms were a decent size and the bed comfortable. The fact it has free breakfast is a real bonus. The buffet breakfast catered for all requirements from salad to bacon and eggs. There were 4 of us travelling and we all thought the location was ideal as opposed to staying in Venice proper as while we were walking around there, we noticed that you needed a porter to carry your bags or drag them over the cobbled narrow streets yourself. Porters were available with trolleys but I don't know at what price.
The hotel is located opposite the Mestre railway station and is very easy and quick to get into Venice and just walk around. Tickets are available from reception and were only 1.25 Euros each way. We also took a train trip to Padua which is only 20mins away. The train station has a McDonalds for those who are interested as well as other snack and coffee shops.
We walked a few blocks up the road and had dinner at a local pizza place the first night. The hotel has an upmarket restaurant and a Bistro which is reasonably priced. We ate at the Bistro on our second night there and the food was very good.
The hotel seemed to be very busy while we were there.

Glorious city, weather & a must see destination.
Hotel staff welcoming & knowledgeable, Hotel website directions advise water taxi or the water bus, be advised that the water bus is far cheaper & we utilised this & all was on time & easy to use.
Be prepared to look around as prices can vary greatly from shop to shop & obviously you pay a premium for all restaurants in Saint Marks square, we chose to eat in other locations some being just a couple of streets away & thought all reasonably priced & great quality meals.

We arrived in Venice after dark and crossed the wrong bridge from the train station and that caused us extra time at finding the hotel. Once found, the Olimpia was great. Check in, the beatiful room, the breakfast and checkout were great. and the staff was very willing to hold our luggage all day while we toured.

Arrived by water bus and found hotel with no problem, had a great welcome on arrival and shown room, greatly impressed with how clean and tidy everything was. Staff were attentive and helpful to all our needs, the complementary breakfast was a treat and we found we didn't need lunch. Staff helped us find all the places of interest and were keen to assist, can't complement them highly enough.
