Wonderful location, very close to central Venice, but in a quiet neighbourhood. Our only complaint was that we couldn't work out how to use the oven!!!!

Lovely quiet apartment in the centre of the cityPosted Sep 10, 2012
Pros: Being in a quiet residential area away from tourists, yet only 5 minutes from the Rialto bridge
Cons: The many steps !
Location: Very central, near the Rialto bridge and in fact only 200 metres away from the Grand Canal
The location of the Regina d'Oriente apartment is perfect - in a quiet street only 5 minutes from the Rialto bridge. The apartment is light and spacious, with air conditioning in the living room. It has one double bedroom and one twin bedded room, and the beds are very comfortable. The owner's friend met us at S. Stae water bus stop at 9.45pm when we arrived and took us to the apartment and explained how everything worked, where the nearest supermarket was and gave us tips on Venice. We enjoyed buying fresh fish from the nearby market and cooking it at night. The only drawback was the 50 steps up to the apartment which were a challenge for my parents in their mid 80s, but apart from that it was perfect. The apartment had its own locked independent entrance at ground floor level and another lockable door at the top of the 50 stairs, so very secure and private.

Far from the madding crowd....Posted Jun 30, 2012 on Hotels.com
Ca Cortigiane: great location; comfortable place to stay;good amenities & atmosphere. We would have rated the property more highly but for 3 things:1) we did not check in until the evening -appreciated being met by a charming lady - the language barrier meant we could not resolve the queries we had. 2) Given that we arrived late- it was surprising to find that the apartment did not seem to be completely ready when we arrived...damp linen about, gritty floor, and mould around shower, some lights not working, a number of very large flies and also mosquitos in the room. 3) With a 3night stay & only 2 full days to explore Venice regrettable that we had to wait around on day 2 to pay for the room and get the "intro" we should have received when we checked in 2 nights prior - We lost the entire morning & the next by being hustled out at 9:30am due incoming guests deciding to arrive 4 hours early!! Not seeing Venice but moving our bags to another apartment to be stored. Been travelling 3 months so far- If you arrive somewhere before an agreed check-in time you cannot reasonably expect to be accommodated earlier, although you can ask to store your baggage. Bottom line is we might have rated it 5 if the apartment had been properly presented on our arrival& we'd been accorded the same consideration as other guests.

Ca Cortigiane Apartment - La Giudecca IslandPosted Feb 20, 2012 on Hotels.com
When booking through Hotels.com, you may not realise that the owners have three apartments in Venice. For some reason Hotels.com does not give you a choice. You get assigned what is available. I spoke with the owners and they plan to fix this. We stayed in the apartment on La Giudecca island and is was excellent. You are in a very quiet area with San Marco and Dorsudoro just across the canal. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment with my children aged 10 and 8. There are restaurants and supermarkets just a short walk from the apratment. I was able to cook breakfast each day before we left. One of the owners Rosanna was so helpful in providing a map with the lay of the land. This made for a truly memorable first trip to Venice.

An Authentic Slice of VenicePosted Oct 7, 2011 on Hotels.com
This apartment, set in the heart of Venice, is in the perfect place to get anywhere you like in Venice, while still giving you a feel of what it must be lie to live in Venice. The apartment is very large and light. It was 27 degrees everyday we were there, but it was always cool and comfortable inside. I would definitely come back again.
