Good for travelers (via train, air, bus, or ship)Posted May 27, 2013
Pros: Location, location, location!
Cons: The map they provided was a bit unclear... so we started walking and searching, not realizing we had started right in front of their building!
Location: Great location, close to cruise ships, trains, buses (to the airport) and the water taxis/valporettos, of course.
The location of this hotel can't be beat, and it is clean and comfortable with a good staff. I saw so many people schlepping big suitcases up and down canal stairs that I was very grateful for the location of this hotel. It may be more romantic to stay near St. Mark's Plaza... but not worth the hassle in my opinion. The hotel is directly across the street from the People Mover (making it easy access to cruise ships). It is also right in front of the transportation hub, making it easy to get a train, get to the airport (by bus), or get any type of water craft (valporetto, water taxi, etc). The hotel was clean, quiet, and enjoyable. It is not hard to get to the center of Venice when you want (an easy walk, or by water) but the heart of Venice is crowded an noisy (and dirty). This was such a better option on all fronts.

Great locationPosted May 7, 2013
Pros: The best thing was the location
Cons: The problem was the non-working air conditioning
Location: Situated at the entrance to the "people mover" which was ideal after a cruise. It was also next door to the bus station for the bus to the airport.
The location was excellent, at the entrance to the "people mover" and the bus station, although finding the way in was difficult. The entrance door was small, and was kept shut. The door had to be opened from inside, but as we arrived early, there was no-one on reception, so it took a while to get in. We had a superior double room which was on the 2nd floor. There was no lift. There was no view from the windows, as they all looked out on to a car park or a brick wall. The main problem we had was that the air conditioning did not work. The temperature in the room was over 28 degrees. The night receptionist tried for over an hour to sort out the problem but the temperature just kept rising. Eventually he gave us a portable unit which was noisy and produced more hot air at the back. We had to open the windows to remove the hot air, but eventually it did cool the room down. The breakfast was adequate for a continental buffet, but the breakfast room was cramped, and we would have expected better for the price. The hotel made a gesture by giving us some cash back for the poor night.

Pre cruise stayPosted Nov 7, 2012
Pros: Location, room size, breakfast.
Cons: Bed was very firm.
Location: Next to the bus terminal so no lugging about of luggage.
Good location. Next to the bus area. For Venice the room was very large. Clean. A little noisy being next to the bus area but I do not mind it. Just down the road to the cruise terminal and the people mover. Breakfast was good. Only problem is as they are trying to be eco friendly the room key had a button on it to turn on the lights that was also timed so the lights would go off at irregular times. Only stayed one night before a cruise so I did not figure it out. Bed was very firm. But I would not mind staying here for several days on a longer trip to Venice.
SMALLEST LOBBY EVER!!!Posted Aug 7, 2012 on Hotels.com
Well, I'd like to start off by saying that there is a HUGE difference between what Americans call a 5 Star hotel and what other people consider a 5 star hotel. The lobby of this hotel is a hallway, literally. There are no elevators, and all rooms are located in the second to forth floors. The width of the stairs you need to carry your suitcases throught is appx. 30" wide, so imagine how difficult it becomes. The room was very clean and bed was comfortable. The bathroom has a very big window where the tub is located, so when we bathe we flashed all Venice, because it had no curtain. The floors are wood, so it creaks and wines every time someone walks in the floors above. The breakfast is a disgrace. I will advise anyone not to purchase the breakfast with your room as the items served is not worth paying not even a $5.00 charge. If you check out, but are in need to leave your suitcases for a few hours, beware that they charge a $5.00 in euro per suitcase to hold them.

AdequatePosted Jul 16, 2012
Cons: No lift
Location: Next to the main bus station however this was not an issue
This is perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. The receptionist was extremley helpful and was happy to make us additional tea and coffee outside of the breakfast time slot. One big down side was our room was on the 2nd floor and there is no lift. Had I been alone, it would have been impossible to get my case up the 4 flights of stairs. Having stayed in Italy before, it was as expected for the star rating (don't be fooled into thinking the Italian ratings are the same as other countries, they are not)
