Nice place to stay in Venice. Convenient location. But not soundproof. You may need earplugs when you really want to sleep quietly. The stuff is nice and even open early breakfast for us. Highly recommended.

Wonderful Place
This was an amazing hotel stay. Wonderfully large rooms, free breakfast delivered to your room and a wonderfully quiet location, located away from the crowded centre.

Lovely stay.
Really enjoyed our stay. However the shower was broken so it only worked at one height. There is no lift either which was a pain with my toddlers buggy but didn't impact our stay much at all. Really enjoyed the breakfast and was a nice touch to bring it up to the hotel room, however there was no where for the 3 of us to eat it so we made quite a mess of the bed daily. All in all a lovely stay and would definitely recommend to a friend.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. In the evening you fill out a form indicating what you would like for breakfast the next morning and they bring it to your room. The motel is close to a water bus stop. Very quiet at night.

Location is nice, but you will have to walk a little to get to it. The bathrooms smelt really bad, excessively for Venice. Didn't get half the breakfast items ordered.

Comfortable room, excellent value
I was very glad I chose this hotel. The room was excellent value and very comfortable. I was only there for one night so did not use the kitchenette and washing machine but if I was there for longer, they would have been useful I liked being in Cannaregio. I hope to stay here again next time I am in Venice.

Good location but pick another budget hotel
This hotel is not worth staying in for its service. We arrived at 9 on a weekday night and there was no one in the reception to let us in. The sign on the door said to enter a code sent with the confirmation email but there was no code in the email so we had to ask another hotel to call the number on the door for help. We eventually were able to get in, but not until two hours later. Additionally, the hotel reservation offered "complimentary breakfast" but the concierge claimed that we had to pay 5 euro each per day to eat there. There was no mention online of the 3 euro per person "City Tax" that we had to pay for the 3 nights we stayed. The neighborhood of Carnneggio was lovely. While the hotel is a 25 minute walk from San Marco and the center of Venice, the location is tranquil and quiet and very beautiful. Find a peer hotel in the area for a better experience.

The room would use some good cleaning. The bed was comfortable. Wifi was good. The breakfast was not good...no selection. The front desk person leaves at 1:30pm so it makes it hard to request anything after between 1:30pm until 8:30am the next day.

GREAT AREA
Restaurants in this area have a better price and generally better food in these out lying areas as opposed to the main streets one tends to walk to look at shops. It seems global climate change is raising the water levels in Venice so during times or wind expect some water along canal routes. For 10 euro's you can buy a water proof plastic liner for your shoes or boots.

We really enjoyed our stay here - the hotel was in a great location - lots of restaurants and shops around. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and the people at the reception desk were extremely helpful.

Clean, well-maintained room. Location close to train station but not near the main area so if you are looking for a more peaceful area, the location of this hotel would work. Air conditioning did not work so the room was a bit hot during the night. We had to open the window and unfortunately got a few mosquito bites.

Terrible service
We were a party of five, of which 2 retirees, whom at the start of May intended to spend 2 nights at this hotel. When we arrived the older members of the party were unable to enter their room because of a problem with the lock, which broke. The reception was not manned, but we did have a phone number to contact. Instead being offered another room, we spent 5-6 hours in hard chairs in the reception while someone called by the hotel tried unsuccessfully to fix the lock. We were eventually taken to another hotel at around 02:30 AM, and got our original room the day after. When we approached management for a refund we were told that the lock problem was our own fault, because we were retirees and weren't competent to use the lock correctly! The hotel staff thought we should have paid for the door to be repaired. Much to our dismay, we had to pay for both rooms that night. We have traveled extensively, but have never met this attitude before. When there are always more customers, discrimination of senior citizens is probably seen as acceptable. Likely, the problems were caused by lacking maintenance of the hotel. Wear and tear takes place over time and eventually leads to failure if no maintenance is done. It's not the last person to use a system before it breaks fault that it broke. The hotel seems unprofessional and unethical in its view of guests and especially in its view of senior citizens. They may as well have advertised "seniors not wanted". We won't return.

Great place to stay in Venice
This was our fourth and final stop in Italy, before flying out of Marco Polo Airport. The hotel was located in a terrific spot ... walking distance from train station and easy water taxi to airport. The neighborhood was quiet with several great restaurants nearby. We recommend getting the unlimited one-day or two-day vaperetto (water "bus") ticket ... whole city is walk-able, and it's probably just as fast to walk than it is to take vaperetto, but we did appreciate the views from the grand canal and the break from our typical 8-10 miles/day walking in Rome and Florence.

Fantastic Place in Venice
What a charming little place. A little of the beaten path but, it was clean, cozy, and warm. Rates were fantastic in winter and the breakfast was more than adequate. Host was very helpful and check in procedure was well thought out and easy. I will definitely stay again if I am ever in Venice.

Great stay here for a family of four
Stayed here 2 nights with my family of 4 with two kids aged 7 and 9. It's a short walk from the train station where we arrived from and its situated near the canal where you can easily grab an Alilaguna water taxi to the airport (Guglie stop and 5 min walk away). It's a very nice quiet neighborhood and our apartment was round the corner from the main hotel reception through a charming courtyard. The accommodations were very spacious with a large master bedroom, dining/kitchenl/living room with a sleeper sofa, and a comfortably-sized bathroom. There was also a washer for the clothes as well which we used and hung them out to dry (clothes pegs were in a drawer). The kitchen was stocked well enough that you could grab fresh produce and cook there if you like. The reception however closes as 2pm so you'll need to plan around that. There's perhaps a 10-15 min walk to the main attractions but you'll walk along the canal banks with some nice cafes on the side. Sleep was especially restful since it's away from the the busy tourist areas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and highly recommend this place! Oh and there's free wifi as well!

Charming and serene
Our third stay at Ca' Fontanea, and new owner Lucio keeps up the standards expected of a small, family-run guesthouse. Clean and bright, with excellent light breakfast service. In a quiet residential pocket of the conveniently-located Cannaregio neighborhood, walking distance to the train station, and steps away from the Gugli and Tre Archi vaporetto stops. Our Venice home base.

Quiet, pleasant BandB removed from the crowds.
We were given excellent instructions on how to find the place as well as helpful information upon arrival. We enjoyed the peaceful location yet proximity to good cafes, restaurants and shops, also to the railway station and water taxi to the airport.

Great pizza place down the street called Tre Archi. No hot water for showers at all other than about 30 seconds. When travelling that is the least I ask. Hot shower and quiet comfortable bed. One out of two.

The guesthouse was great, they kept us informed for the weather, how to get there, esp. Remind us there might be high tide during our stay. The rooms were nice, we stayed for 2 nights. easy to access all attractions but the house is a bit difficult to find when we first arrived. However, everything was awesome!

A relaxing time at Ca Fontanea
The girl at the desk was extremely helpful. She and one of the cleaners helped us with our suitcases as we were on the second floor. The room was bright and cheerful. No views. We asked for help as to where to shop and where should we have supper. She directed us to a lovely restaurant which was in the Jewish quarter. The food was fresh and beautifully cooked just as she told us it would be. A very nice breakfast was available the next morning at the hotel.

Muy bueno en general. A pesar que estuvimos esperando el check in una hora nos recibieron y dieron desayuno mientras venia el encargado. La señora muy amable y ayudo a que ingresaranos antes a la habitación . Luego el conserje nos dio opciones de que hacer en Venecia en el dia; ya que solo nos ospedamos una noche. La ubicación súper bien a lo que necesitábamos cerca de la estación santa lucia unos 5',yendo por el atajo del puente universitario.

Não tive boa impressão ao andar da estação de trem até o hotel pois parecia inseguro. A fachada do hotel na foto do site me parecia mais bonita. Fiquei decepcionado. O quarto é bom e espaçoso. O frigobar não tinha água e também não gelava. Avisei uma pessoa mas não adiantou. Creio que não recomendaria para amigos.

Мы жили на мансардном этаже с выходом на альтану - чудесная, очень уютная комната с небольшой кухней, удобной кроватью и запахом дерева. Пребывание в ней доставляет удовольствие и даже самозабвенно скрипящий пол не портит ощущения, что здесь все сделано с любовью и заботой. Завтрак на крыше в солнечное утро и пара бокалов вина в уютной крошечной гостиной в дождливые сумерки были одинаково прекрасны :) Уезжать не хотелось!

Friendly and peaceful little hotel
A very nice little hotel 15 min walk from the railway station, but still comfortably away from the biggest tourist hordes. Near to vaporetto lines 4&5, ten minutes walk from 1&2. Many good restaurants at the nearest big canal. We had a beautiful bedroom&kitchen -apartment with enough room; aircon and wifi worked well, shower was a little tricky at times. Good breakfast was brought up to the room, cooking the meals yourself would be possible, too. Although office is open only a limited time, they have a good system to make arrival possible at any time of day or night. Appreciated the luggage storage, possible during our hiking week in the Dolomites, and when we left later in the afternoon. Above all, very friendly, competent and flexible service!

Sijainniltaan mielestäni hyvä, vähän rauhallisemmalla alueella. Rautatieasema lähellä ja vesibussipysäkki hyvin lähellä. Mistä pääsi helposti "ytimeen" tai esim Muranon saarelle. Respan nainen oli erittäin avulias. Aamupala ei mikään kauhean monipuolinen, mutta ihan ok kumminkin. Se tuotiin suoraan huoneeseen. Kaikenkaikkiaan ihan sympaattinen hotelli ja huone oli siisti.

すべて揃ったアパート
フロントが開いている時間が少ないのですが、事前にメールでセキュリティーコードなど詳細な指示があるので困りませんでした。フロントの女性も親切で到着後の指示も詳しく書いてありました。別の建物にあるアパートだったのですが、冷蔵庫、簡易キッチン、洗濯機まであってとても快適でした。唯一の難点が下水の匂い（？）が上がってきてお風呂周辺が臭かったことでしょうか。ドアをしめ切れば問題ありませんでしたが。
