This property was fantastic. It was located close to the train station which made getting there simple and easy with luggage. The staff was amazing, they were able to provide me with recommendations on near by places. The room was comfortable and had a nice canal review.

The property is beautiful, right on the banks of the Grand Canal, with stunning gardens. My room was incredible, with a huge chandelier and a spacious footprint overlooking one of the smaller canals. The gentleman who greeted me at check in was wonderful! So welcoming and helpful, as was the barman who served me a delicious spritz in the garden in the evening. Everything was so perfect so I was really disappointed at checkout, which was a stressful experience. I was leaving at 4am to get the first bus to the airport. The gentleman was extremely slow and was having some issues with the computer, but there was no sense of urgency, after about 5 mins of fruitless clicking on the computer he said the printer was out of paper. I said I was sorry but I had to leave and asked that they charged the credit card I had swiped at check in and if he could email me a receipt to the email I had also given at check in. The man wouldn't let me leave without writing my credit card info down on a post it note, completely unsecure, but I had no choice as I was in danger of missing my bus and flight. I do not understand why this was necessary when it had already been swiped at check in. Some additional training in how to handle customers' financial data security is needed.

In one word...PERFECT
It was an absolute perfect stay, super room, spacious bathroom, round bed, access to garden on a canal. Breakfast was very good and enjoyed it on the terrace along the Grand canal. Personnel is very friendly and helpful. Thanks for making this an amazing stay and burthday of my wife.

The room we had was a little dated and didn't have the basic facilities a hotel has now days, tea coffee slippers functioning phone or fridge but this wasn't a deal breaker we tried to be in the room as minimal as possible and explored most of the time. The property itself foyer/grounds and breakfast areas are amazing.

Very friendly staff, smaller room, but we stayed for one night only and were looking for place to sleep, not resort like amenities. Very cosy, on a Canal, ideal start point to explore the city on foot or by boat. Close enough to transportation options for getting out of the city. Super comfortable bed and old world charm. Bed cover showed a bit of age, but linen was impeccable. Great value for money. We arrived without pets, but great feature it is pet friendly, yet very clean.

Nice hotel. Thermostat is not controlled in the room so you have to ask the staff to change it. They refused to give us the requested temp so it was a bit chilly during our stay

Always a pleasure to stay here while in Venice
I've stayed at this hotel 4 times now and it never ceases to be an amazing experience. The garden on the Grand Canal is the most beautiful place to sit and have an aperitivo or breakfast in the morning. This time they did mess up our reservation and gave us a different room than the one we booked but they made up for it by offering us and our friends a bottle of prosecco and various free drinks so it worked out.

I really enjoyed my stay at ca nigra and plan to stay there again next time. The room was comfortable as well as gorgeous. I loved the chandelier and the terrace. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, in particular Narciso, whose recommendations made my first visit to Venice a magical experience.

Excellent hotel with frontage to both the Grand Canal and a smaller side canal. Welcoming staff, beautifully decorated and with an attractive garden overlooking the canal. Excellent location within 5 minutes walk of Santa Lucia Station

Charming Small Hotel - Close To Venice Train Sta.
I really enjoyed the location, service, breakfast and general charm of this property. As a renaissance villa, creating space for bathrooms is a challenge, that was done pretty well. Great staff, charming property, close to the train station. I will be back.

The hotel is located nicely 12 mins walk from bus stop. But my room was very small and the corridor is so thin I can barely open my luggage. Also facilities is a bit aged.

Prefect honeymoon hotel
Ca’Nigra was located in the perfect location! Close to the water taxi and restaurants. Breakfast in the morning was great and they have a nice garden you can eat it in overlooking the canal! We would definitely stay here again!

Go for the garden on the canal stay for the servic
Had the single room. They said it was small and it was but I stayed in the garden the whole time which was amazing. Direct unobstructed view of the grand canal. It was awesome.

Could not get a more central location, with the grand canal lapping at the door and it's own private mooring for the water taxi. Very clean and I thought that the staff were exceptional, particularly the concierge. Will definitely stay here again the next time that I am in Venice and I thought that the hotel represented excellent value for money in what is an expensive but beautiful city.

Watch out bedbugs!!!!
This was one of the worse hotel stays in our life. In the middle of the night we found a bedbug in our bedroom. Killed it and took a picture of it and went down to the reception. Receptionist was apologetic but refused to change our room claimed he has no other room. Once we pushed and told him wife is pregnant he finally agreed to move us. Also AC was not working (not hot enough) but once you open the windows here comes mosquitos. It was super uncomfortable to sleep in a hot room. We booked See View room but they said they didn’t have such room but not sure why they advertise it that way. Once we showed him our booking confirmation they said sorry we can’t do anything. We would never ever go to this hotel.

Located only minutes away from the train terminal. Right on the waterfront. All the staff made us feel comfortable and welcome. Narciso was especially patient and informative and showed great concern when we asked about a nearby hospital. Narciso pointed out great restaurants around the island and best routes for the ferry. Emmanuel makes a delicious ham and cheese sandwich with a special sauce. Everyone at Ca’Nigra Lagoon Resort made us feel special and we will definitely come back. Thank you Narciso and team. This hotel is a great hidden gem. Great romantic settings. Right on the canal. Staff couldn’t do enough for us. Always helpful and full of information. Will always be staying here from now on.
