The property is beautiful, right on the banks of the Grand Canal, with stunning gardens. My room was incredible, with a huge chandelier and a spacious footprint overlooking one of the smaller canals.
The gentleman who greeted me at check in was wonderful! So welcoming and helpful, as was the barman who served me a delicious spritz in the garden in the evening.
Everything was so perfect so I was really disappointed at checkout, which was a stressful experience. I was leaving at 4am to get the first bus to the airport. The gentleman was extremely slow and was having some issues with the computer, but there was no sense of urgency, after about 5 mins of fruitless clicking on the computer he said the printer was out of paper. I said I was sorry but I had to leave and asked that they charged the credit card I had swiped at check in and if he could email me a receipt to the email I had also given at check in. The man wouldn't let me leave without writing my credit card info down on a post it note, completely unsecure, but I had no choice as I was in danger of missing my bus and flight. I do not understand why this was necessary when it had already been swiped at check in. Some additional training in how to handle customers' financial data security is needed.
