Lovely place, very recommended
We loved every minute we spend at the B&B. Clean, warm water, good breakfast but the best thing are the hosts. The area is also recommended if you want to be away from all the tourists but with several eating options near by (especially wine and tapas bars) and walking distance to the tourist areas. Easy access from the airport via Alilaguna (water shuttle).

We loved the quiet authentic italian home. The terrace for breakfast was lovely served on the garden terrace. even though we were out of the busy areas we were still in walking distance to everything including water bus to the airport.

Very comfortable room. Adequate breakfast. Convenient and quiet location. Plenty of good to excellent restaurants within a short walk. A soap holder in the shower would be a good addition. Unless you want US 5* you’ll do well to book here.

This was a perfect little authentic place in Venice. We contacted Marco before arriving and called him when we arrived at the airport. He helped us with directions getting to the place and was there to let us in. The place was just as described and looked in the photos. We stayed in a room that was on the second floor, which had a bedroom and bathroom. There was another room off to the other side. The other side of the apartment was for Marco and his family. Marco had breakfast ready for his on the terrace, which was delicious and so nice! The location was a little farther from the main attractions (St. Mark's church), but it is all walkable and it was nice to be farther away from the tourist places. There were still many restaurants and places to explore close to the B&B. Wonderful place and experience!

Ok for 1 or 2 nights
A lot of positives. Our accommodation was a bedroom, sitting room, bathroom and small kitchen area with 2 hot rings and a fridge. More like a small apartment then a B&B. It was on the ground floor. Like many places we've stayed in in Italy these rooms are designed to stay cool in the summer. The downside is all rooms were very dark. We were expecting to eat in our room, (the terrace is only available in the summer) but very disappointed that we needed the lights on at all times.It made it quite depressing to be indoors.If your stay is only a day or two and you plan on being out from breakfast until after dark then this would not be a problem. The area is very quiet and there is little noise in the rooms. Breakfast was limited even by continental standards (we bought our own juice, bread, etc, which is fine by us but we were surprised there was no fruit/cheese/ham). We did ask for a coffee maker (Moka)on the first day but that did not arrive There was no toilet paper. We had to ask for the internet to be reset. The next day there was no heating or hot water, the day after we were woken at 7AM with a request for access to our room where the heating controls were as it was off again. We saw very little of our hosts other than to deliver breakfast or when we had to ask for things above. They did seem very nice and friendly when we did see them, if just a shame small things were let it down.

Dear guest, first of all thank you, because the review as a whole appears positive. The junior suite, as you said, is almost a small apartment with many elements of quality Italian design. I'm sorry it wasn't bright enough for your expectations . Of course, we know that the breakfast in the good season it is more enjoyable on the terrace ! Regarding breakfast, every morning we offer freshly baked bread, different kind of croissants every day: wholegrain, with or without jam, with honey, with ginger... So we didn't think it wasn't enough for you. As well as we offer fruit juice, yogurt, Venetian biscuits, cereals, muesli, eggs, jam and confiture, milk and coffe of course, or tea. Which is the typical Italian breakfast, I would say more abundant than usual. As far as Moka is concerned, my wife didn't really understand your request and she apologized with you now...It would have been a pleasure for us to satisfy your request. Too bad you didn't ask us again. About the other inconveniences, sometimes captain. We have understood your disappointment and we have felt embarrassed, above all for the particular circumstances that have really happened with a singular repetition. Since those days, for example, heating has not had any problems. Really weird! However, we did our best to accommodate you and we are sorry that your stay was not fully satisfactory, which is always our desire, for all our guests. Marco and Alessandra

Great stay away from the hordes of tourists!
Great stay, close to lovely restaurants, and bars, easy walk into the centre. Friendly host who provided recommendations on things to do, and places to go. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

Our favorite place we stayed in during our two week vacation in four different locations. Charming home and lovely host who helped us in every way possible with directions, recommendations, and graciousness. Located in the most ideal neighborhood if you love quiet beautiful Venice and want to see amazing canals and homes. After a bustling day with crowds Casa Baseggio is the place to be! It is also very close to a street filled with delicious restaurants and a wine bar. Breakfast was on a delightful patio out back and a glorious way to start the day in an extraordinary city.

We had a short stay here for 2 nights in Venice and the house is in a great location for exploring with good restaurants nearby. Alessandra is a wonderful host and was very friendly and welcoming. Would love to stay here again.

Once you've found it - a dream
Lovely apartment with everything you could need and comfy bed. Landlady very friendly and accommodating. Basic breakfast but very nice on a nice cool terrace. Friendly lizard also who visits for breakfast! Quiet area away from the crowds but in easy walking distance of nice restaurants & shops. All in all a lovely stay in a oart of Venice I would recommend. I miss it already.

Perfect locations, easy to find from the airport and 5 mins walk to a street lined with bars and eating places. Marco and his wife were the perfect hosts. The breakfast was simple and tasty. We had the ground floor “apartment” which was huge. Little kitchen area etc. I would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again

Nice stay but wouldn't really book it again
We visited from Ireland and booked the room for 3 nights during Easter 2018. Overall our accommodation experience was nice but to be honest it was not great. The room was clean and spacious, hot water provided all day and it was nice and cosy inside. We found the area to be very nice, the room was ok and the owner very nice and friendly. The bed was supposed to be a double bed but actually there were 2 beds joint together which was not as expected and the beds kept moving apart. We selected this accommodation also because it said we can have the breakfast on the terrace. But we couldn't, because we were told for 3 days that it rained the day before although outside it was nice and sunny. Breakfast was very good but having it in the room was not so good. The room is in a house and every morning at around 8AM we could hear chatting at our door and had to wake up earlier which was annoying. Overall we had a nice stay and we thank the owner, but we wouldn't choose it again nor recommend it to our friends. We were also a bit annoyed at the end because we had to wait until the owner checked that we had paid to hotels.com... we were in a hurry to catch the boat to the airport and the payment was done anyway and could have been checked in day 1 not in the last moment, not that we ever experienced this funny checkup ever before.

Hello, I'm sorry that your stay has not been fully satisfactory. I would like to point out that breakfast is served on the terrace of the house or in your bedroom, depending on the weather and the season, as clearly stated on our website. Actually, the last Easter was cold. In the morning even without rain it was wet and did not exceed six or seven degrees, so it was not possible to prepare breakfast for the guests on the terrace, unfortunately. About sleeping: 2 confortable beds are well joined together, so if we are asked for two separate beds we can separate them. I'm sorry you found this arrangement not comfortable for you. Regarding the day of departure: the payment or just the mandatory invoice for the guest are always done at check out, for a courtesy to our guests, but if a guest prefers to pay or to receive the invoice at check in, we are more than happy to do so. Of course we are It would have been enough to ask us. Clearly we are obliged to deliver the bill with the invoice to the guest. All the best.

Nice B&B in quite part of Venice
Great Host, make sure you follow directions on web site to find the B&B and try to get there in daylight. Venice can be very confusing especially after dusk when first arriving. Beautiful room and great breakfast.

The location is great, easy to get to from the airport and you can walk to the centre without much difficulty yet you are staying in a really peaceful area of the city. Good restaurants a few canals away

Excellent choice
We were so pleased with our choice of Casa Baseggio. It is at the end of a beautiful courtyard with lush trees and pomegranates - and finding any greenery in Venice is a luxury. The owners Marco and Alessandra are very kind and have a lot of good information about town. Travellers considering this listing should know that it is outside the most touristy stretches of Venice, a fact we appreciated very much. You need to prepare with detailed instructions on how to find the building as it is completely unsigned. People arriving by train might also consider taking the vaporetto to Orto as pulling wheeled luggage across the stepped bridges can get inconvenient. Best wishes.

Lovely stay in peaceful Cannareggio
Casa Bassegio is a delightful B&B in a very peaceful area of Venice. We were expecting an en-suite room and found we had a small very comfortable flatlet which was most clean and pleasant. Marco and his family were very helpful and welcoming which helped to make our stay wonderful. would certainly recommend.

Nice bed and breakfast with helpful staff
We were greeted even though we were there early (off a cruise ship). They kept our bags for us until the room was ready. They provided a map of Venice and some restaurant recommendations. The internet in the room was not reliable/fast, but the staff helped us to print boarding passes. They said that fiber-optic is coming to Venice soon and it will improve then.

Not bad but not great either.
The location is fair and the big advantage was it was away from the crowds. There are some good but expensive restaurants nearby and some great wine bars. We felt the breakfast although adequate was very simple and lacked some imagination. Nicely presented sliced fruit would have been better than either undercooked or overcooked tepid hard boiled eggs. A little too basic all in all.

AMAZING STAY!
Amazing visit to this wonderful B&B. We couldn't have been more delighted. The welcome was warm and the room was light airy and impeccably clean. Our host gave us a list of good restaurants in the area for our first meal and gave us helpful advice, local knowledge and directions. Her English was excellent! We had a lovely continental breakfast delivered to our door (on the balcony in the warmer months); croissant, rolls, jams, muesli, cereal, hard boiled eggs, fruit juice, amazing coffee. We never felt hurried or hassled in any way, in fact the rooms are arranged so you are quite separate from the living accommodation so you feel as if you have your own apartment. There is a hairdryer provided and a mini fridge. This is a quieter part of Venice and tranquil at night. The bed was firm and the sheets crisp and clean. Our room was tidied and cleaned each day. I can't recommend Casa Baseggio enough, Venice is of course stunning. Gracie mille x.

Perfect holiday
Marco and Alessandra were amazing hosts. They have a clean and quiet home in a beautiful area a little off of the beaten path but still ideally located. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast on the terrace was simple and perfect. Marco's recommendations for local dining and drinks were excellent. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

Casa Baseggio -
Fabulous location - Canareggio is an easy walk to all the main tourist attractions but is an area with minimal tourists! We enjoyed the quiet, beautiful surrounds and fabulous local restaurants. Casa Baseggio is comfortable and spacious. Marco and Alessandra provide a delicious breakfast and excellent touring advice.

Marco was an exceptional host. Helpful in every way. We enjoyed our stay and have recommended it to several others. The location provided a different view of Venice - off the beaten path, but very accessible to local restaurants and shops, with churches, the Jewish Ghetto, museums, in abundance. Would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a cozy B& B.

We were greeted by Marco, the owner, who was welcoming and explained the local area giving us a detailed map of Venice and suggested places to eat. Lovely clean room and modern ensuite shower. Good hair dryer provided but you need to bring your own shower gel.

Casa Baseggio is an excellent place to stay in Venice in a quiet and unspoilt part of Cannaregio. Our very pleasant room overlooked a little garden and we were able to enjoy a relaxed breakfast with excellent coffee on a tiny and flowery terrace that overlooks a large adjacent garden. Marco and Alessandra, the owners, are very welcoming with excellent English for those of us not expert in Italian. Marco was particularly helpful in providing excellent directions and also recommendations for very good local bars and restaurants.

My wife and I had a wonderful 3 night stay which was comfortable, safe and welcoming. The B&B is located close enough to the Grand Canal but far enough away for privacy and the ability to enjoy a more serene Venetian experience. Would highly recommend it.
