“No impressed as promised.”

This is a 2 or 1 star, location was OK and reasonably clean but: No safe place to leave luggage. Rooms overlooking main street are noisy, AC when plugged in is even more noisy. Small B/W TV with snow -leftover from the 60s. No hair dryer or place to plug in anthing in the room Hot or cold shower and ittty bitty. Overall, not a good value for what we paid.

Area recommendations

Neighborhood is OK, hotel is the problem.

“Fine for a night”

The hotel was fine for us because we just needed a place to spend the night near the airport for a 6:30 A.M. departure. Since we had already several days in Venice, at the suggestion of the desk clerk, we headed to Verona. It was easy to get to the train station from the hotel and Verona was lovely!

“very accessibilble for visitors to Venice”

Hotel room was in great, newly remodeled condition - new tile, etc. Compact but Immaculate. Very friendly desk people, spoke English. Breakfast was beyond expectations! Easy access from Aiport with much luggage (taxi -E$25.) and another taxi when we headed for our ship-(E$30.) During Venice stay, took bus over bridge to canals, using same pass for bus and vaporettas (water buses). Easy even for us novices to Italy.

“not impressed”

The rooms where small., but clean. the carpets in the stairway had stains,they were not too clean. The staff was very helpful and nice. It was very convenient to Venice. The bus stop was right around the corner of the hotel.

“Could do better in this location.”

The so-called continental breakfast was awful and the room was tiny. parking structure was many blocks away.

“convenient to Venice”

Centrale Hotel made Venice very accessible without having to drive and park there. The bus stop is just a couple blocks away. As for the hotel itself, it was very clean and the staff quite helpful. They even suggested a parking lot a few blocks away where we could leave our car (over the weekend) without having to pay for parking. The hotel parking was 10 Euros per day. The rooms were very small but adequate. The continental breakfast left something o be desired. There was another breakfast area that was much nicer and we would have rather paid a little more for our room to eat there.

“Wouldn't choose this one again”

The hotel staff was a bit rude, and the room was truly quite small, even for European standards. It was clean and everything worked well(besides the AC which apparently can only be turned on at a certain time). Our group consisted of four adults and a baby, none of the other hotels made a big deal of the fact that we had a baby in addition to the four adults, except this one. Once we checked into our tiny room, we saw the reason why: there was barely room for the four adults! Luckily it was only 2 nights. The hotel was quite a bus ride from Venice and the area didn't seem very safe, so I wouldn't really recommend it unless other hotels are outrageously expensive. We didn't have a lot of time to waste, so it was not a good choice for us. The only good thing was a little restaurant diagnoal to the hotel which was incredibly good.

“Good deal”

Good location hotel for avoiding Venice high hotel prices. Bus for Venice at the corner. Internet 24 hrs. for 10 euros. Small room but clean. About 1 km. away from Mestre train station.
