Small smart hotel close to stationPosted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: see above. Location, communal rooms, breakfast, beds
Cons: Management refused to inspect problem with shower and were disinterested and somewhat cavalier regarding the complaint and action I planned to take.
Hotel was clean and had a fresh look to lounge and breakfast room and was conveniently located close to the railway station Bedroom was clean if a little tired. However bed and pillows very comfortable. There was a problem with shower which the hotel were reluctant to investigate, which was a pity because apart from this it was a good hotel for Venice especially for the cost. Breakfast and service for breakfast was very good. Could leave luggage after checkout

Hotels in a great location and reasonable value for money. Rooms and stairwell very tired looking, and all needs to be modanised.

Great location, dirty rooms!Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: The location.
Cons: The cleanliness of the room!
The location is good just off of the Grand Canal close to the Rialto bridge. The room was a decent size but the rug had many stains on it. The curtains were also stained as well as the cloth headboard of the bed. The breakfast was decent and the daytime desk staff was friendly and helpful. Had the room been cleaner I could recommend the hotel. The cleanliness of the room was reminicent of a Gordon Ramsey 'Hotel Hell' room!

Great hotel near the train stationPosted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Friendly and English speaking staff, breakfast
Cons: Nothing much
Location: Train station across the river, but have to walk extra distance to cross the bridge.
The hotel is right across the river to the train station. However you do have to go all the way around to get the the bridge and cross the river. It is about 10 minutes walk overall. But compare to the other hotels, this is pretty convenient as you don't have to take the water bus and it is only walking distance to the train station. The staffs speaks English and are generally friendly. Room is great for a three star hotel. Breakfast is ordinary but delicious. The only thing is that the elevator is really small. It barely fits two person carry on luggage. But I guess it's probably like this anywhere else in Venice.

Close to Train StationPosted Jul 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
Gardena Hotel is really close to the train station which is very helpful so you don't have to haul your luggage around too much up and down stairs. It's about a 6 minute walk from the station. The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel is clean, warm and inviting. Our room was the "garden" room I believe which is very very small and detached from the main property (it's like a cottage). It's super cute with it's slanted, wood beam ceiling but if you're taller than 5'8" you're gonna have a problem in the shower.

Needs renovationPosted Jun 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
Located close to train station and Piazza Roma, making it easy (for Venice) to get to ground transportation. This hotel has a nice lobby, but the rooms are old, and the air conditioning on the third floor does not cool well. The room was very hot and opening the windows at night was not an option due to the outside noise. There are better hotels in the same area for the same of less money. Suggest Antioch Figura for better value.

Great Location, Friendly Staff, Highly recommendedPosted Jun 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
Excellent Location to cruise ship port, train station and bus depot. Quiet location and overlooking a small quaint canal - very charming. Thoroughly enjoyed our short 2 night stay. Will definitely stay there again.

Great location near to the train station yet away from the noise of the grande canal. Good selection of food at breakfast. Room was small but of the size stated.

Great spot for a base, in a not so busy neighbourhood.
