“Out of the hustle and bustle but very worth the walk.”

The closest water bus stop is "Madonna D'orto"; from there the hotel is only a few blocks. It was a little difficult to find through the crazy streets, but had several 'markers' to help us find our way back after a day of exploring. The rooms were clean and well stocked with a mini bar, TV, safe, and large closets w/ mirrored doors. The bathroom was very much on the small side, which was fine for me (I'm only 5'3") but my 6' tall husband had sort of a hard time maneuvering around. Despite it's size, the bathroom was very clean and looked newly remodeled. The free breakfast offered every morning was quite sufficient. Fresh fruit salads, croissants, cereals, cheeses, meats, juice and a single cup coffee maker that offered everything from a single espresso to lattes. They also offered items from a 'hot' breakfast menu for extra Euro, though we didn't sample. It was also nice that the breakfast hours were until 1030; it gave us more option to sleep in a bit. The hotel was quiet and has pretty interior/exterior but the walls are paper thin. Staff was very friendly! We got 'hellos' and 'goodbyes' galore from everyone at the front desk to the housekeeping. The hotel also offers great discounts on tours and sites. We set up our Gondola ride for 25Euros, however, keep in mind you won't be the only person in the boat at that price.

“Elegant yet affordable”

We wanted an affordable hotel that whose air conditioning would provide a reliable retreat from the heat and humidity of Venice in July. It did. If anything, the room was too cool without a sweater and the temperature was not adjustable. There were winter blankets on the bed. Given the heat outside, this was welcome. The hotel itself is elegant. The annex should not even be mentioned as such; it is simply a second building behind the main one. No difference. The breakfast has variety and is quite filling and tasty. People at the desk are knowledgeable and helpful about Venice. Good location outside the usual tourist areas, yet they are easily in walking distance. If your bags are light and not awkward, the hotel is in easy walking distance of the train station.

“Fabulous place to stay away from all the crowds.”

Very nice hotel located in a wonderful neighborhood. The staff was very helpful and attentive. Looked exactly like the pictures. We stayed in a room that looked like it had just been refurbished. Two very good restaurants located down the street and a very lively (and local) neighborhood within easy walking distance.

“Excellent service and quiet”

Stayed for 3 nights in June 2006. Standard room - ornate, if somewhat small. Service was excellent. Located in quiet area near the Jewish Ghetto

“Excellant place to stay”

It was a nice place to stay. A little out of the way from the main areas so it was quiet. The restaurants in that area was more the type frequented by locals so the food was good. Highly recommend the place.

“Great find”

This was a great place to stay. While it was a bit far from the St. Marks area, I didn't mind the trek. I loved that it was quiet at night, a must for a good night's sleep. The breakfast was fabulous. Would deffinately stay again.

“Great find!”

We really enjoyed our weeklong experience at this hotel. It's in a lovely, quiet part of Venice with many nice shops and restaurants very near by. The tourist attractions are all within walking distance or a short vaporetto ride, yet we could go back at the end of the day and not have to contend with crowds to go to dinner or out for a stroll. The staff were very friendly, helpful and all spoke English well. The breakfast included with the room is very substantial and a nice surprise. The room was a good size with many amenities for a moderate price. We would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality place to stay away from the crowds of S. Marco.
