“Great location, friendly staff”
Loved our weekend in Venice. This hotel is an easy walk from all transportation and in a peaceful neighborhood. Our room was on the small side but we had a view of the canal that was gorgeous. Fantastic breakfast included. The staff was always available and friendly. Take their restaurant recommendations seriously.
“Alright, but not great”
This hotel has paper-thin walls, and is a long walk from the main attractions of Venice. I would not reccomend it for anyone who is "out of shape" or unable to walk long distances. The staff was very helpful and spoke English. There is air-conditioning, which is a good thing in Venice.
“Would go back”
The only negative about Venice is that many hotels don't have internet. I specifically picked Al Sole because it had WiFi. We bought time and tried to use it in the room. We lost the connection almost immedidately and while we tried to regain it all our time was used up. The staff seemed powerless to help us. However, the next day we talked ot the hotel manager who gave us a new card for the time purchased. I understand the hotel took the loss by giving us a new card but it resulted in a very satisfied customer! The staff was also helpful recommending resturants, one of which had a reasonably priced inclusive dinner special. The hotel is good for the train station but must take water taxi to main attractions. I hadn't considered the water taxi from train station to hotel. The room was comfortable, the decor very nice, breakfast fine, and staff friendly. I felt safe everywhere in Venice. Great to walk along the canals with the moon rising.
“Great service!”
Hotel Al Sole was a great place to stay! Our room was ample size, location is central, and the breakfast is very good! The only "negative" I can think of is that they have an hourly charge for computer use.
“Would stay here again”
Very close to p.roma, staff very friendly and helpful.
“Terrific stay in Venice!”
Our room was great, very atmospheric. Good rates for internet service if you want to use their computer in the lobby. Very good breakfast, a great added benefit in a city where meals tend to be pricey. We had only two complaints: one is the weird tub set-up. If you are physically challenged, this might not be the place to stay. There is about 6 inches of floor space where you can get out of the tub. There is a 1/2 screen to stand behind while you spray yourself with the hand held sprayer - we usually ended up with water all over. Also, ladies, take a hairdryer. They have a strange contraption to dry your hair that is not at all satisfactory. Other than that, we absolutely loved Venice, and found this hotel convenient to anything we wanted to do.
“Quite neigborhood”
Great Place!!! Exremely clean and the staff are the best.
“What a wonderful experience!”
This hotel was wonderful, everything from the room, to the shower, the amazing employees and the complimentary breakfast. We had an amazing time and would definitely return. I was there for work but my husband was on vacation so he wanted to explore other towns in Italy. Every day the concierge would help him with train tickets, printout of maps, tips, pack breakfast, etc. My one and only complain would be that our room (117) was on the darker side, even with all windows open.
“Hotel Al Sole”
This was a nice hotel. I struggled a little bit with the wireless as I had to go out to the lobby to get wireless access but all in all, my room was pretty good. The view was nothing to brag about but i think that's the luck of the draw when you request a garden view. My garden happened to be a dirty rooftop. All in all, we only stayed there a maximum of 12 hours with less than 4 in the bed. the directions they gave to get there were not the greatest but we oriented ourselves nicely and were able to navigate OK.
“So much more than I expected!”
We stayed on the second floor overlooking the front canal and the room was spacious with a high regal ceiling. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast bar was awesome, with a wide array of meats, cheeses, cereals, rolls, croissants, jellies, juices, milk, water, boiled eggs, fruits, cappucino machine, etc. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone! And would love to come back! Ciao! :)
