Prima voor kort verblijf

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Prima hotel.

Venice Gem

Lovely hotel with great staff in a great location in an ageless city. Bed was a bit firm and the pillows were wafer thin. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Would recommend highly.

Tolles Hotel in einem alten Palazzo

Posted Jun 9, 2015
Das Hotel liegt direkt an einem kleinen Kanal, abseits der Touristenströme und nicht weit von der Piazzale Roma.

Great Hotel!

Posted Jun 7, 2015
Pros: Everything!
Location: 5 minutes from Grand Canal - around the corner from Saint Nicolo church - bells ring at 8 a.m. and are beautiful. Murano shopping a real treat!
We have stayed at this hotel five consecutive stays in Venice Italy. Terrific staff - very helpful and accommodating. If you are going to 'nitpick' on the little things, don't come to Italy! Overall ambience is terrific and location to Grand Canal is wonderful. Quiet after a long day of sightseeing. Breakfast is lovely - stayed there a few days ago and warm enough to sit and eat in their beautiful garden area. Well worth the price and always feel like I am coming home!

Lovelly Stay

Posted Jun 5, 2015
Pros: Charming old hotel in a lovelly location.
Cons: No
Location: Plenty of local places to eat, and reasonably priced. you can eat in this area fairly cheaply, and this applies to areas away from the Tourist spots.
We had room 203, a large room overlooking the canal. There was a bit of local noise due to the service boats, but it did not really worry us. We would definately go back.

Nettes Hotel in Bahnhofsnähe

Posted May 27, 2015

Beautiful hotel, excellent location

Posted May 15, 2015
Pros: Air conditioning in the room included in the price. Good selection of food and drinks at breakfast. Decent size shower room. Beautiful building.
Cons: View from the rooms at the back is over a tatty yard (not owned by the hotel)
Location: Only a short walk to the Grand Canal and Vaporetto station. Gondola stop outside the hotel. Great restaurants and ciccheteria (snack bars) nearby.
Al Sole is in the Santa Croce area - close to the centre of Venice. About 15 mins walk to the Grand Canal, 15 mins in the opposite direction to the bus station and train station. Very reasonable price. Clean rooms. Buffet breakfast. The view from the back of the hotel is not great - a tatty yard - not owned by the hotel. Beautiful view from the rooms at the front over the little canal and bridge. The staff were friendly and helpful - they will let you leave luggage in a room until you can check in / out. 24 hour front desk. The courtyard of the hotel is lovely - you can eat breakfast out there in warm weather.:)

Small hotel in beautiful old palace

Posted May 10, 2015
Pros: Friendliness and character, and a great place to recover from sightseeing before heading out for the evening, followed by a good night's sleep later.
Cons: Room was compact, inevitably given the age of the building, but was clean and fully equipped with shower, so difficult to say how it could be enlarged
We picked the Hotel Al Sole mainly because of its location - on a quiet canal within a few minutes' walk of the Piazzale Roma bus terminus. It turned out to be so much more - a beautiful former palace full of character with rooms overlooking a tranquil stretch of water. There was no restaurant, but with busy squares and streets within easy walking distance this proved to be no problem at all. Staff were friendly, obliging and helpful throughout. Breakfast was top-quality European, sliced meats and cheeses, fruit and yoghurt, fruit juices, soft white and brown rolls and fresh tea and coffee in a buffet which was constantly topped up.
