Perfect if arriving by train

Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: The staff are particularly welcoming and helpful.
Location: Easy to get about, either on foot or the Vaporetto stop outside the railway station.
Couldn't be more straightforward: leave station, lug your bag over the bridge and you're there. Lovely traditional decor; exemplary, friendly and helpful staff. Perfect!

Convenient, friendly hotel

Posted Apr 22, 2014
Pros: Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel building was quite quaint and attractively decorated - not a chain style at all.
Cons: Choice for breakfast was a bit dull and there was often a delay in finding somewhere to sit at busy times.
Location: Conveniently situated for taking a vaparetto along the Grand Canal. Alternatively about half an hour's walk to St Mark's Square.
We stayed here for 4 nights from Sat 12 April. It was very close to the train station, which was one of the reasons we had chosen it. We also found this useful as a Vaparetto stop. We were offered a choice of rooms on arrival and chose the slightly smaller one as this had a sideways view of the Grand Canal. Perhaps we would have done better with the other room as ours was quite small, but adequate.

Perfect location, incredibly helpful staff

Pros: location, staff, setting
Cons: We had no problems with anything
We arrived in Venice by train after several delays and were very exhausted. The staff had our room ready early, and allowed us to check in early at no extra charge. As many restaurants in Italy close in the afternoon, the front desk had recommendations waiting for restaurants that were still open for a late lunch. If you are arriving or departing by train or airport bus (you probably are, since you can't drive your car into Venice, and the water taxis are crazy expensive), this is one of the best located hotels in Venice, as it is directly across the Grand Canal from the train station, and just a few blocks from the bus stop. The staff was very helpful in explaining the buses and timetables. The rooms here are very nice, and the staff will make an excellent cappuccino for breakfast on request. They also offer a free boat ride to Murano to tour one of the glass factories. This is a gorgeous ride, but be warned that the glass is very expensive. There is no obligation to buy, and the pieces are amazing, but most of them cost more than my car.

convenience and water front

Posted Mar 22, 2014
Pros: i got more than i paid for
Cons: clean up the mold, trims. paint lighter shade or partial of the room
* if u have heavy luggage, be aware those ramps are all stairways (i wasn't aware b4 arriving, had to hire help from men w/ over-size hand trucks, front of station). hotel directly across station. stayed 3 nights. chk in/out done efficiently, w/history of venice. small island u can walk to tourist area 15-20min. our didn't face the front but offered to us for 100 euros but we declined. our room had 2 single bed put together and we felt that lump in middle very pronounce. decent size rm. bathroom had some mold on window area but there's a curtain to cover it but w/2 curtains close it does touch our body. breakfast on 1st fl, 3 rms; 2 back, and 1 at lobby area which had ventilation the other 2 u can smell all who/what entered. overall in one word i would say its quaint

Pros: Friendly service and close to amenities
Cons: For the short while we were there I cant fault the hotel
Location: Directly opposite train station and water bus stops. Not too far away from main tourist areas.
Lovely hotel with extremely helpful and cheery staff. Very close to train station and main water bus routes.

Fabulous!

Very helpful staff for any questions about touring (in English). Excellent European breakfast selection included. They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Great location walking distance from both bus and train. Gondolas and public grand canal transportation just outside the hotel. Everything else you want to see is walking distance. Would definitely go back when in Venice again. The only possible negative is that the view from the room (at least ours) was an adjacent building.

Beautiful hotel

From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcomed! Very cute hotel. Room was small, but very nice! Staff was very helpful. Literally a walk across the bridge from the train station, which was really convenient, especially if you have never been to Venice before. You can easily get lost in Venice. We had an unbelievable time in Venice and would highly recommend this hotel.
