“Great for Convenience and Cleanliness”
My first impression of Bucintoro was that it was not as great as I had imagined from the pictures on its website - I imagined a hotel that was larger. Nonetheless, it was very clean, and the hotel service was very helpful. The room was a bit smaller than I'd imagined, so I asked for a bigger one and was moved 2 days later. Biggest pluses: - Very close to Arsenale (water bus stop). You just need to walk over one bridge. - Very close to restaurants and sightseeing locations. - Complimentary internet!! (My personal favorite). - Complimentary breakfast everyday from 7am to 10:30am. They have boiled eggs, granola, dried fruits, fresh fruits, fresh croissants, a good assortment of meat, fresh juices, etc. Not so good: - Small (but I guess that's what Venetian hotels are like). - No restaurant. Breakfast is served in dining room, which is only open for breakfast. Dining room is also small, so it's best to get there early or it's otherwise crowded. - The one elevator broke (also very small) so we had to use stairs at one point. All in all, good experience. Hotel's strength is convenience and cleanliness. Weakness is size. If I were to go back with friends, definitely first choice. If I were to go back with my parents, would choose a larger and bit fancier hotel.
“Definitely Recommend!”
Hotel Bucintoro was beautiful. As expected, the room was small however, extremely clean and comfortable. Everything and everyone was very nice. The continental breakfast each morning was super conveinant before departing the hotel for site seeing each day. It is located about 10 minute walk to St. Mark's Square. The location to us was ideal because the hotel was not intertwined in the center of the streets. Venice is has tons of small side streets. It can be confusing to find your way around. Therefore, it was great having a hotel slightly removed from that so we always easily found our way back! I definitely recommend it.
“Excellent 1st night Honeymoon stay in Venice, Italy”
The breakfast was wonderful everymorning and the staff spoke good English. Sometimes we sat outside and other times we would sit inside. The service was wonderful and the staff spoke some english which was helpful. It was the first night of our Honeymoon and we were very happy with the hotel and accomodations. Eat dinner in the inner-part of the city as the food is much more expensive on the water or in Saint Marcs Square. Buy water and soda in the grocery stores! They are expensive in the streets and at dinner. We would reccomend this hotel to anyone visiting Venice, Italy. We paid a little extra for a sea side view and it was well worth it. The view both day and night was spectacular! Very clean rooms too. Ladies, be sure to bring at least a scarf to cover up with in the churchs as you will need to buy one if you have nothing to cover your shoulders with. We went the first week of July and it was hot but beautiful and everything we could have dreamed. Everything is walkable distance from the hotel (given you don't mind walking a mile or two)
“Beautiful nautically-themed boutique hotel on edge of tourist area with spectacular views”
This is the epitome of a hidden gem. The entire hotel was renovated from one where guests shared communal bathrooms to a top-quality hotel with beautifully-appointed rooms with modern bathrooms. I love the entire nautical theme, from the hallway lights that look like ship portholes to the restaurant that looks like a dining room you would find on a yacht. The staff is attentive and friendly. I also enjoyed breakfast on the outdoor patio ideally situated on the canal where I could watch the city come to life before my eyes while sipping a cappuccino. One of the best features of the hotel is just a short distance (two bridges) from start of the busy tourist area where boatload of tourists arrive each morning and head west to St. Mark's square. The best feature, however, are the four windows, two on the south side overlooking the laguna and two with spectacular views of St. Mark's and the entire waterfront along this side of Venice. Because of its location, you can see miles of the canal and literally hundreds of the buildings along the canal. I spent numerous hours just watching the city from a comfortable chair and ottoman in my room. I also slept several night with the windows open with a nice cross breeze but it can be a bit noisy due to the the wakes of passing ships causing boats docked outside to rub against each other. But the sound of the lapping water was wonderful and since the hotel is away from the main tourist area, I never heard any rowdy late-night revelers.
“Wonderful Bucintoro, Venice”
1 - The hotel is first class, a boutique 4 star. From 10pm till 8am it is very quiet. Rooms smallish, but all rooms have brilliant views, beds on first night appear a little hard. 2 - Joggers, there is a park close by. 3 - WIFI in the hotel, also communal FOC PC in the small foyer. 4 - Food generally in Venice, hmmm, this was the low point of the trip. Restaurants are expensive and definitely not value for money. 4 - Spritz - Prosecco, Aperol and Soda is the drink of the moment and at $3-5 each are a great drink any time of the day. Found a lovely hole in the wall El Refolo on Calle Grimaldi about 300m from the hotel - opens from 6pm till midnight. 5 - You must visit Lido and Murano islands for a reality check.
“Perfect.”
Pristine, lovely & quiet. We requested a corner room and received a top floor corner room (we had the Jr. Suite). View the canal & San Marco. Open windows at sunset w/ a glass of wine and wave at all the poor idiots who paid more for bad hotels. We stayed toasty warm during our February visit, each room has temp. control. Our sheets were of good quality. Staff was friendly & helpful & answered the same stupid tourist questions over and over again with a smile. They only serve breakfast but it is plentiful or you can have made-to-order delivered to your room. If there were pastries left over you can sneak down for a midnight snack. Nearby grocery allows you to stock your mini-frig with food & wine & they have a 24-hour bar. The bedroom floor is dark hardwood and so clean you could've eaten off it. The bathroom walls & floors are of the most beautiful marble. Spotless bathroom, every inch... this seemed to be a rare commodity in Venice! Large tub with rainfall showerhead. Beautiful padded silken walls. Huge wooden beams overhead. High ceilings and a spacious overall feeling considering it's a European room. If you're older or not accustomed to walking buy a waterbus pass & jump off & on to get to any location in Venice. Can't get lost since the canal is a giant circle and you'll always come round to the Bucintoro.
“Excellent accomodation for a romantic city”
My husband and I went for our 20 yr anniversary and couldn't be more pleased. The hotel is very cozy, with sailor motive decorations thorughout, and constructed very ingeniously next to the Chiesa(Church) di San Biagio. It's located right next to the Marine Museum, and the Arsenale vaporetto station. Not only you have a great view of the City, but you're within walking distance from Piazza San Marco, the Military Marine Museum, the Arsenal ship factory, gardens, the Garibaldi local walk. Breakfast is hot and delicious, they have fresh fruit, yogurt, juice,a variety of hams, breads, and croissants. The staff was corteous and diligent is answering questions we had about Venice.
“Great Hotel”
The hotel staff was wonderful. Beside being on the small side (normal for Italy), the rooms were extremely clean and plush. The location was great...on the Grand Canal close to all, but not in the middle of crowds.
“good stay”
this is a nice hotel. though not very central, I was OK with the location. But, remember about the bridges in Venice which after some time becomes very tiring.
“Very pleasant stay”
The staff was really friendly and helpful, breakfast was great

Area:
Castello, Venice, Italy: Bordering San Marco and the Rialto and stretching east to some of Venices quietest greenest parts, Castello is the citys most varied sestiere. Its most famous aspect is the Riva degli Schiavoni waterfront next to the Bridge of Sighs, with picture-postcard views onto the lagoon. Yet a few yards from the tourist hoards, the backstreets are quiet and typically Venetian. There are many outstanding churches and art collections in this area.
