Very friendly hotel experience.Posted Jan 2, 2014
Pros: Love the papagallo! Helpful owners happy to practice Italian with us.
Cons: Assistance with bags.
Location: Close to Piazale Roma and train station which makes a quick stay easy.
Quiet, extra clean room with a very welcoming atmosphere. Need to use your muscles to get bags up the steps.

wonderful little hotelPosted Oct 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Family run hotel in venice, tucked in a quiet corner, close to train/bus station. Lovely rooms, plush towels, warm showers. Our room had a shared bathroom, but we had our own shower and sink in the room. It was really quite convenient. Breakfast was great. A large caraffe of coffee and steamed milk with brioche and fresh orange juice. Would absolutely stay again.

Pros: Friendly staff, nice breakfast, quieter part of Venice
Cons: Room was a bit noisy in the mornings
Lovely, good value hotel. Was a great place to base our two days in Venice. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was good for a hotel of this price.

Pretty cruise breakPosted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: The owner was full of good information and it was close to canal which gondoliers came down .A few local restaurants
Cons: Breakfast room very small and no atmosphere hot water intamitant
Location: The hotel is very quaint and in a very accessible area to all sights of Venice it's a 5-10 minute walk from the bus station and people mover
We arrived early but the room was just ready We were at the front which was noisy at times, but I feel that in small passages noise carries, The room was old fashioned but with shutters and clean bedding etc The bathroom was very clean. A plug in insect killer was provided for Mosquitos but did not seem a problem It is very basic but on reading reviews that seems to be normal ideal area for exploring and only minutes from grand canal

Wouldn't go backPosted Sep 4, 2013
This hotel was not what we expected. The room was extremely hot and tiny. Not sure how it compares to other hotels in Venice but I was happy to only be staying there for 2 nights.

Comfortable, clean and well located.Posted Aug 14, 2013
Pros: Location, room comfort and cleanness. A/C. Owner is very friendly and speaks English.
Cons: Pricey. Breakfast consists of pastries, bread, spreadable cheese and coffee, could be a little better. A bit noisy at night as people passing by.
Location: About 10 min walk from the central station and water ferry. All main attractions, restaurants, supermarket, bakery, coffee shops are nearby.
Nice location, everything is in a walkable distance.

Good location and customer servicePosted Aug 13, 2013
Cons: No air conditioning in room on 3rd floor
First room we stayed in had an air conditioner, which was gratefully needed during July when we were in Venice but the 2nd room we stayed in didn't have one although it had a fan it was still far too hot. We stayed in 2 different rooms because I booked wrong. Great customer service though, they do offer breakfast but it's only buns, croissants, crackers and stuff to put on them plus coffee and tea in a small dining room, but lady was very nice and pleasant to everyone. They also have a very pretty parrot in the main lobby which entertains everyone who walks by, I saw lots of people looking in the main window just to look at the parrot. Both rooms we stayed in had a shower which was a must, bathroom was shared for our one room but it was very clean and large so wasn't a problem sharing it. Good location, not too far from the train station but also not close enough to hear all the visitors coming and going. All in all we had a good time here.
