“Good location. Very expensive. Not great accomodations”
Helpful reception, but not a well kept hotel.
“Great Location!”
the hotel is in the san marco area... the only thing that i would change is the shared bathroom.... everything else was perfect!
“HORRIBLE STAFF!! Worst hotel experience of my life...DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!”
Hotel Review: A woman working at this hotel verbally assualted me because I asked a question and she didn't speak English. Instead of "no English" she started literally screaming at me. EVERYONE at the hotel was rude and acted like they were doing you a huge favor for allowing you to stay in their high-priced but low quality hotel. I have been all over the world and never had such a rotten experience. This was the most money I ever paid for one night in a hotel, and the worst hotel I've stayed at. Seriously. Staying on the main island of Venice is a rip off anyway. If you aren't a person that has money enough to throw away? Just forget it. Because you don't get what you pay for. I paid more for this low quality hotel than any NICE hotel I have ever stayed at and I have been all over the world. Stay in the MESTRE area for half the price in a nice place, then take the 5-10 minute train ride to the main island of Venice. I wish someone had told me that. This hotel has a cold cereal and instant coffee (made one cup at a time by a woman who screams at people) as the breakfast. . If I had been staying in the United States or Germany (where I speak the language) I would have called the police and filed charges against this woman for verbal assault.
“I will return”
It was more than I actually expected from a two star hotel in the heart of Venice. The room was clean and customer service was very good. It is a little hard to find but so is everything else in Venice. The breakfast wasn't great but adequate.
“The hidden hotel”
This hotel was almost impossible to find. We asked so many people where it was and finally a very nice man walked us to it, otherwise we might never have found it. The room was small and the beds were as hard as rocks. The bathroom was two hallways away. All in all it was not very comfortable or inviting. The staff was very nice and helpful but it still did not change the fact that we would never recommend this hotel
“Not as expected”
1) When making reservation, air-conditioning option should be mentioned. 2) Difficult to find, get directions. 3) Hotel staff was VERY helpful in finding us another room in another hotel, with air-conditioning.
“Great location but keep looking”
There is no air conditioning at this "hotel", which is more like a hostel. So if your trip is in the summer months, be careful about booking it. The location really cannot be beat but the lack of AC can be really challenging--there is a ceiling fan but it does not work well. The bathroom stinks of canal and when I showered, it flooded the entire room. Overall not a great place to stay but again, location is fantastic. There is not a lot of nightlife in Venice anyway so no need to worry about not being able to sleep at night. Hotel receptionist at night time has a real stiff face too.
“Overall good experience in Venice”
It was a good hotel for young travelers. Cheap, clean, and great location. The bathrooms are renovated, which is great, but the walls need a fresh coat of paint. It was pretty clean, though, and our room was very comfortable. The breakfast was okay, exactly what you would expect for the price paid. The guy at the front desk was very helpful! I would definitely stay there again if I went back to Venice.
“Not worth it!”
We had one night in Venice after returning from a Mediterranean cruise. In the interest of saving money we booked rooms at Citta di Milano because it was one of the cheapest we found on Expedia. What a mistake! It was a very hot and humid day in Venice, so the first thing you notice is no air conditioning. They give you a fan that does absolutely nothing. The tiny beds are covered withe scratchiest comforter they could find. It was so hot and uncomfortable we were forced to push the beds together so the fan could blow at both of us, take off the comforter and soak the sheet in cold water. Thank god for Ambien.
“Avoid this hotel”
I picked up this hotel because it was featured among "Expedia Picks" and had a 2 star rating next to it on Expedia website. However, I would easily have paid more to stay in a different hotel. We visited Venice in June and there were no fans in the room. The hotel was booked, so could not be given another room. Table fans were provided, which were completely inadequate for the weather. Breakfast was okay, better breakfast was being provided at other hotels in the area. The only plus point I can identify is its location - it is close to the main square.

San Marco, Venice, Italy: San Marco (St Marks) is quintessential visitors Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doges Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.
