“Opulent old world elegance”
Stunning Venetian Palace. Rooms are exotic, royal and the view from the roof-top restaurant is the BEST in Venice and maybe Italy as well. Staff are courteous and the concierge is extremely helpful.
“exellent hotel”
exellent hotel, exellent location, but prices at the hotel and overall venice are a bit on the high side. meals, wines, even water is too expensive. we were on a inter city tour of europe and other cities are not so expensive.where the crowds are, you pay. there are other sections of venice not as crowded and as wonderful how venice is.
“Probably wouldn't go back”
This is an extremely beautiful hotel, but we were surprised at some of the neglect and general issues that were overlooked. Our window was cracked, with tape used to patch it up. The metal plated sign for privacy said "Do Not Disturd.". I dropped one of my toiletry items in the bathroom and picked it up, along with hair and dust. The staff was professional, but not overly friendly. Not what we expected for supposedly one of the best hotels in Venice.
“Hotel Danieli - Venetian Luxury”
Yes, it's expensive, but we got a great rate on Expedia, half the normal rate. The location can't be beat, just a few steps from the Piazza San Marco, and the main San Marco vaporetto stop is right in front of the hotel. It's my third stay at the Danieli and I would stay again.
“Worth the splurge”
My wife and I lived for a year in Vicenza a few years ago. Vicenza is only 45 minutes from Venice so we traveled there often and are very familiar with the town. Being so close however, we never stayed in Venice. We decided that for our return visit this spring we'd splurge a little and stay in the Danieli where we used to go for a drink on their rooftop terrace once and a while. While expensive for your average traveler, we enjoyed our three night stay at the Danieli more than any of our recent travels. The service staff were polite, gracious, and accomodating. The hotel itself is magnificent. The rooftop terrace provides a wonderful place to enjoy a drink while gazing over the lagoon. The location could not be better and provides immediate access to Piazza San Marco as well as an easy walk to Rialto or Castello. The consierge informed us of their partnership with their sister hotel, the Excelsior on Lido. The hotel provides a free water taxi shuttle to the Excelsior every 2 hours where you can take advantage of their beach and facilities. We have nothing bad to say about this hotel.
“A memorable experience...”
Location, Service and views! A treasure...
“Simply the best Hotel in the world!”
This is the number one Hotel period! I traveled to many luxery hotel but the Danieli was truly a unique expiricance starting from the lobby and getting the room eraly and simply doing everything we asked for with the outmost proffesionalizm - PERFECT!!!
“Simply the Best!”
The hotel has a great location, great staff and the rooms are very comfortable. We had a great experience here. We can't wait to go back.
“Worst Starwood Hotel Experience”
Venice was the last stop of our trip having already visited 3 other european cities including Rome. Our expectations were high given we had experience good service through out our trip and mostly because Hotel Danieli is part of the "Luxury Collection" of the Starwood brand. Upon arrival in Venice, we checked in at Hotel Danieli and learned that our room was not ready. This was expected as we arrived an hr earlier than check in time. We politely asked the front desk when we should come back to pick up our keys and informed him that our luggage was given to the bell hop. The guy at the front desk did not knowledge our question with a reply instead just shoved a card with our room# and left us standing there. The front desk guy went to talk to his other colleagues in Italian as we were still standing at the front desk waiting for him. We waited a few mins before we went over to try to get his attention. He ignored us and continue to converse with his colleagues. We gave up and just walked out of the hotel. The hotel staff were rude and unhelpful and the rest of our stay was similar to this experience. The concierge and hotel staff would not greet you even if you greet them. To top it off, the A/C in our room was almost non existent. There was barely any A/C and we turned it all the way up. We had to shut off the lights in order to keep the room a bit cooler. This place was full of snobby and unhelpful staff. I don't recommend anyone staying at this horrible place.
“Loved Venice and Danieli”
Perfect location - within walking distance of St. Marks Square. Gorgeous lobby and rooms, very good food although breakfast is quite expensive. Front desk and concierge very friendly and helpful.

Area:
San Marco, Venice, Italy: San Marco (St Marks) is quintessential visitors Venice. The Piazza San Marco, famous for its pigeons, campanile, basilica, Palazzo Ducale (Doges Palace) and expensive cafes, is unmissable. The waterfront views are legendary and more gondolas depart from here than anywhere else in the city. In season the Piazza teems with day trippers though just a block or two away streets are quiet and offer more museums and palaces to explore.
