Recreation
The Lido of Venice, the slender, 11.5-km-long (7.25-mile) island facing the Adriatic Sea that lies a 15-minute waterbus ride east of central Venice, is the city's playground, especially in summer when beaches and water sports draw visitors and Venetians. Year-round, visitors rent bicycles to explore the island, play golf, or take horseback rides. Aside from fishing in the canals, the central city offers little in the way of recreational opportunities. Deep-sea fishing is available in the Adriatic Sea.
The recreational activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.

“Wonderful”
This is a very elegant hotel. It is in a quiet neighborhood. The rooms are stylish and clean. We very much enjoyed our stay.
“Quiet Location”
Our room had a bathroom with a sloping roof, which made it a bump hazard when using the toilet or bidet. The pillows were flat and did not provide much head support. The hotel does not have direct access to the water but it is only a short walk to two different water bus stops. The Font. Nove stop is convenient for the airport and the northern lagoon islands, Murano & Burano. Ca d'Oro is slightly closer to the hotel and good for Grand Canal touring. The neighborhood is quiet and the hotel owned restaurant with separate management is very good. The breakfast buffet is decent but not spectacular. The property is well maintained and the rooms are clean with efficient service. Overall, it was a good Venice value for the price paid.
“Great location, great accomodations!”
This is an historic hotel in Venice that is convenient to all the sites, ferries, restaurants but in a less crowded area than other city hotels. One block away, there is a piazza with cafe, pizza, bridge and benches that is perfect for people watching when you are tired of wandering all the little alleyways. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. Internet access is free but only works in the lobby.
“We love this hotel”
The Giorgione turned out to be much more than we expected. Our room had a loft bedroom; the sitting area has a 2 story tall window that opens to a beautiful courtyard with fountain. And the breakfast buffet is fantastic. We loaded up on breakfast then had a late lunch out. Theres no shortage of good restaurants. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be the pillows are too thin. And some people may be put off on the location having to walk a bit to get to it. Its not on a canal. But we like the location bc it is quiet and just a short walk to the main traffic areas.
“great find”
Amazing suites and an incredible restaurant. We lucked out
“quaint”
quaint hotel, rooms are small, service was very good,
“expensive water taxi!”
The only way to get around Venice without dragging your luggage up and down the bridges was riding the water taxi. But it's so expensive. We paid $80 Euro to get from the Cruise Terminal to the Hotel and $100 Euro to get to the Airport from the Hotel. For only one night stay it's way too much!
“Convenience & Comfort in Venice”
Hotel Giorgione is a comfortable palace in a city of palaces, not only a convenient walk to San Marco, but also to both sides of the island. The hotel staff was courteous and met all our needs including checking and printing out a train schedule for us. Although small, the room we were given was beautifully decorated with art and well cared for antique furniture as well as a large comfortable bed. After walking through the beautiful streets of Venice for hour on end, the luxurious bathtub was greatly appreciated for soaking tired bones and muscles!
“Charming place to stay while in Venice”
Beautiful, older, well kept hotel...extreemly friendly and helpful staff that spoke English. Nice continental breakfast. The room was a bit tiny, but doable. Having the helpful staff more than made up for the smallness of the room.
“Very nice hotel”
Great location very close to everything affordable dinning in the area with very friendly service.
