Clean quiet modern hotel in good situation.
Very comfy hotel in an excellent situation - only 10 minutes walk from the station in one direction and the St Marcuola vaporetto stop in the other [Lines 1 & 2] and 5 from the Guglie vaporetto and alilaguna stop. [lines 4 & 5] Modern and clean, and very quiet considering its situation, surrounded by bars and restaurants. Small problem that the lift only starts at the first floor not ground floor level. Otherwise no complaints.

Very centrally located. On a bridge - at a Vaparetto stop, also Alliguana stop for boats from airport. 10 minute walk to train station - no bridges on the walk to the train. Lots of great restaurants near. Lots of shops. Very walkable. 18 minute walk to Rialto. Able to accommodate family of 3 with a triple room.

Loved our cute hotel. Location excellent!!
Loved our small hotel, it was very cute and comfortable. I read something about the stairs, but that was an old review, they have now a new Lyft or elevator, so that was great. The front-desk people was awesome especially Elmie. Location was also excellent. Very near the most important train station, Santa Lucia. I recommend it!

This hotel was great. Loved the location right off the canal but away from the main tourist area. It could get a little loud with boat traffic, but that is to be expected when you have a canal room like this. I'm glad we splurged for the canal view room. This location is also very near the train station. It was maybe a 5 minute walk. I saw people lugging their bags all over Venice being so grateful I didn't even have to deal with stairs until I got to the hotel. The girl at reception was very nice. Room was as described. My only complaint, which won't affect my score, but is the bed. The mattress was very old and worn out. You indents were very large and it is well past time to be replaced.

It was in an amazing location. **** The staff were excellent. Our room was small, but very clean and the bathroom was newly renovated. We had to climb up three flights of stairs, which may be a problem for some guests. The reception area was a bit run down and in need of a facelift. The breakfast was pretty good,

Good basic hotel - better than just 1-star
My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights in September and have to say is was a perfectly good stay. Firstly the location was really good. Only about a 5 minute walk from the main train station and in a great spot with lots around you. When arriving there are a few stairs to climb without a lift which was tough but let's face it, you only have to take your suitcase up there once so hardly an issue. It's quite a small hotel and the staff were really helpful with recommendations and anything else we needed. The room itself was pretty basic but the bathrooms had clearly been referbished recently and everything was perfectly clean. The breakfast wasn't brilliant and was next door up more stairs in quite a hot room however, it served a purpose and didn't bother us too much. All in all, a great place to stay if you're on a budget and aren't planning to spend loads of time in the hotel itself.

The room with the canal view was wonderful. It was small but still spacious. The bathroom was also very nice & roomy. The only downside to the property was that there was no elevator to access the hotel lobby which was on a 2-3rd floor ...there were a lot of stairs to climb with luggage.

Check in process was frustrating after dragging bags up flights of stairs to reception (no elevator) we were then taken back down then up another set of stairs next door to our room. Room was spacious quiet and well apppointed

We had the double room with canal view and it was amazing! The room was warm and clean when we got there. The bathroom was clean as well. The check in was quick and the staff was always helpful. We had a quick breakfast at the hotel full of various cakes and toasts. Walking distance to train station and various water taxi stops. Overall had a great stay!

Wonderful hotel and staff!
The man who checked us in was very helpful, and seemed to have traveled a lot himself. The other staff members we met were also lovely! The room was very nice, clean and comfy. The view was excellent, we could look down at one of the canals. Of course, that also meant that it was a bit noisy at night, but that din't bother us much. I warmly recommend this hotel!

Great location, good WiFi. Five minute walk to the train station. Only drawback for we 75 year olds was the three flights of stairs to the room. We would definitely stay again.

Good hotel in a good location.
Nice hotel close to the main train terminus. My only complaint is the climb up the stairs to the rooms and reception. Breakfast is a bit sparse but it is a continental meal.

Wonderful location for someone traveling to Venice via train. We enjoyed how clean the bedroom and bathroom were. With four people its hard to find a good place for us all and this worked. Highly recommend :)

We loved the location. We got off at the train station and it was a quick 5 minute walk and very easy to locate right by the bridge Ponte delle Guglie. Our room had a wonderful view of the canal and all the happenings in the street below. We had stayed a couple weeks prior closer to Sam Marco Square and preferred this location and not so congested as well as many shops and restauarants nearby. We were still able to walk to San Marco Square from this location. Lovely breakfast served in morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location, easy to get to from airport
The hotel was less than 5 minutes walk from Guglia water bus stop, which was one of the first stops after the airport, in a more residential & less touristy area. Which was great when you wanted to escape the hoardes of tourists. Plenty still to do in the area, with great transport links nearby. When we arrived at the hotel the receptionist gave us a warm welcome, spoke impeccable English & gave us some great recommendations on what to do on our stay & where to eat locally. The facilities were more than adequate for what we needed from the room.

Lovely weekend stay!
We loved hotel Marte! Spent 3 nights there and we would come back! Lovely staff, easy and pleasant check-in and check out, breakfast included in price! Booked the best value deal (non-refundable) and knowing Marte has an official rating of 1* we weren't expecting much... we were pleasantly surprised! The hotel is in an amazing location and the bathrooms are comfortable and refurbished. Rooms quiet, aircon works well. I honestly stayed in 3* before that weren't as good!

This hotel was near a few activities we wanted to do that day - close to the water taxi to the airport. There is no bathtub - just a drain - traditional old school Euro bathroom. But the bathroom was very clean and the bed was very comfortable and our room overlooked the canal.

Never will go there again!!!
It is a 1-star hotel according to the staff there. So it is! When I checkin I dragged my bags to 3 floors up, and I was told my room is in the other building next to it. So I had drag them down and back up at the other building. Room had a air-conditioner and a small refrigerator but not tea no hot-water cattle, nothing else basically. There is a canal in front of the little motel but the rooms don't have any views as described in the description. It is very hard to find and only when the restaurant owner told me to go upstairs to check in, I saw the little carpet under my feet said Hotel Marte. I killed three bloddy mosquitos in my room since the surroundings of the motel are not nice so bugs grow. I don't think it is worth the amount I paid at all. At the time I leave, the staff there said they saw my check-in review and it was not good. They said why did you just ask for a cattle?! Also the security box in the room was locked and can't open, it is just not functioning. Room phone did not work to call the receptionist, and I did not want to climb up to the other building to ask for a working security box. By the way, the breakfast is bad. They give you some badly made bakeries. Apples are old and looks like bought from some bad distributor, they are soft and some have rotten spots on them.
