fantastic locationPosted Oct 28, 2013
Location: close to San Marco but without all the hustle and bustle
perfectly placed overlooking the entrance to the Grand Canal and right next to the water taxi stop for Piaza San Marco and the famous Harry's Bar. I would recommend getting a room with a canal side view - it's well worth the extra expense. The rooms are lovely, the staff exemplary and the food is superb. A true haven of peace within a stone's throw of San Marco. I would DEFINITELY go back there again.

The ideal locationPosted Aug 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is 2 minutes walk from St Marks Square and faces the Grand Cannel so the perfect location. Water taxis stop at the front of the hotel. Sitting outside the hotel watching the world go by is exceptional as long as you can afford the prices of the drinks but that is the same all over Venice. Would recommend the service as they were always helpful and gave advice on what to see and do. We arrived at 10 am and they kept our bags safe till we could check in.

Pros: Location, environment, friendly staff
Location: 5 minute walk from St Mark's Square. Easy access to the numerous shopping streets.
Excellent location, friendly staff, nice to eat on the balcony overlooking the Grand Canal.

There was mold all over a wall in the bathroom. This hotel was a huge disappointment.

A classy hotel in as Venetian a setting as you canPosted Aug 4, 2013
Its location is unbeatable - adjacent to St Marks Square and with the restaurant/outside breakfast area having an astonishing panorama of the Basin, Gondola Station and major transport (waterbus) interchange, but without intrusive noise. The hotel itself is elegant and its public areas spacious, and all parts, including the rooms are air conditioned. The staff are charming in the areas where they need to be (bar, porters) albeit a bit more dispassionate in reception and some of the waiters are a little detached. Breakfast is a must, the glorious setting is complemented by a quality, if not wide-ranging, cuisine. We chose the 'breakfast not included package' and chose to pay as an extra, which worked for us given that our departure time meant that we would not have taken full advantage on every day of the inclusive option. We have stayed there before and would certainly do so again

excellent location on the Grand CanalPosted Jul 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall, it was very satisfactory. Some of the staff were a bit standoffish, but others were very obliging. Be aware that men cannot wear shorts in their restaurant at dinner. We never dined there since we had leads on very good places to eat rather than in the hotel.

On the Grand Canal and two blocks from St Marks SqPosted Jul 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
The location is great and all staff members we had contact with were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Our only complaint is that our room was not clean. The carpet was stained and it had not been vacuumed prior to our arrival. The bathroom floor was very dirty.

Would not recomend.Posted Jun 11, 2013
Cons: Modern lobby (doesn't fit the hotel) Bad value for the money when compared to other hotels on the Grand Canal. Noisy because of gondolas
Location: Water Bus stops right in front of hotel.
Disappointed. Good location, but not the value we expected for the money. By the way this is my seventh time in Venice. First time at the Monaco. Stayed at other hotels on the Grand Canal that had more charm.
