We enjoyed our week-long stay at the Hotel Tiepolo

Posted Oct 9, 2014
Pros: The staff were friendly with some having a good command of English for dealing with any questions we had.
Cons: The quality of breakfast was good with attentive staff. For a week's stay we would have liked a little more choice in the cooked meats selection.
Location: Being so central it was a joy to step outside and be so immediately in the bustle of Venice. St Mark's Square is very close and the Vaporetti are near
This three-star hotel is very centrally positioned not far from St Mark's Square and a step-free walk from the Vaporetto stop at San Zaccaria (or one bridge away depending on the Vaporetti service required). This was ideal when walking with our luggage. After booking we were offered a room overlooking the Square of San Filippo and Giacomo for a ten Euro supplement per night which we took and were delighted with. Although a lively little square with plenty to watch it was a quiet room at night with good sound proofing. In Venice you have to accept that Hotels in historic buildings have limited-sized rooms, smallish showers in the ensuite, small reception and breakfast areas, but the breakfast area was practical with a view out to the back of a canal and views of passing Gondolas.

Small Cute and Cozy

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: location, safe in room, large room, AC was fantastic
Cons: check out was at 10am right after breakfast closed. This is too early. We also didnt appreciate having to pay up front vs paying upon leaving.
Location: st marks square, restaurants, self serve laundry, rialto bridge
The hotel is down an alley just to the right of the hotel rio. A sign is posted and is easy to spot if you are looking for it and have a map. The hotel was modern with a large room, great AC and decent wifi. Self see e laundry facility was only 2 min walk away. Check out was too early at 10am as this was closing time for breakfast. Left over luggage was just piled nesr the front door with no one around which was a little disturbing. We also didnt appreciate the up front non refundabble payment when arriving. This resulted in having to whip out our credit card twice due to hotel city taxes the next day. However If we came back to Venice we would return to this hotel.

Poor service, bad quality

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Well to start it was impossible to find becuase there really wasn't any signage and it was tucked into a little alley in the corner that you would never be able to find. The room smelled like garbage and was not very clean. The "towels" are more like bed sheets and don't expect to have a shower that's even the least bit warm. The shower head didn't even work actually because there was no pressure. The walls are also paper thin and you can hear your neighbors alarms go off in the morning or them snoring at night One thing that really bothered me about the hotel is that when I left in the morning and came back late that evening my hotel room door was left open by the maids and I guess anyone who walked by had access to my room all day and when I notified the desk they blamed me and claimed I did it yet I hadn't been there all day and the room was now clean. Anyways they did nothing about it and didn't care at all. Overall not worth your money! Definitely look at a different hotel!!

the hotel itself is in a tiny street, but is very near to Piazza San Marco and boat services, so perfect to visit Venice. Staff was kind. I enjoyed it.

Hotel Tiepolo Weekend

Posted Jul 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
We had a nice stay at Hotel Tiepolo. The location was fantastic, really loved the area. We could not get wireless in our room, so if you need a reliable Internet connection, this may not be the place for you. I could connect in the hallway and once in the lobby, but nowhere else. I asked the hotel staff about it, and the offered no help, just that I should try to connect in the lobby. Because of that, I would not stay here again, which is a pity, because the location is great, and the hotel is beautiful.

Great, except for Air Conditioning

Posted Jun 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
The staff, location, and layout of the hotel were all above par. With that being said I had a very difficult stay. The room had no fan and the AC was not working the night I stayed there. While the hotel cannot control the weather, and it was above 90, the lack of a fan in the room and any air flow made it very difficult to sleep. I would recommend the hotel to friends, but would be cautious during the summer months.
