“Loved It!!!”
We had an excellent time at this hotel. It is convenient to everything on the island and within walking distance to the water taxis. The beach is directly infront across the street. The staff were very helpful and courteous. The room accomodations were more than adequate. The downstairs restaurant and bar are also nice to try when your too tired to venture out.
“Poor quality - Old dorm-style rooms”
Staff was nice, but could not make up for the poor quality/condition of this place. Rooms were very old. Old sheets, towels. Requested the room with the private bath. Bathtub was tiny and stained. They do offer free WiFi (which wasn't working at the building we were in, but was available at another one of their locations nearby). Also, WiFi is not available in the room, just in the public area.
“Lots of room for reasonable cost.”
The hotel room was huge. They promised a balcony and ours was massive. We could have fit a ping-pog table with room to play and then some. It was great having a safe place to park the car close to the hotel. Restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed a nice stroll on the beach and waded into the Adriatic Sea even though the water was a little cold in early October. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Bus stop right out front took us to pier where we got a boat ride to Venice and up the Grand Canal. Only complaint was the light was out on the balcony and it put a damper on us sitting outside late at night with drinks and smokes.
“Museums and Beach-combined”
The hotel was pleasant and efficieint. It was just about 15 minutes walk to the waterbus to San Marco and elsewhere. They sit on a nice section of the Adriatic bathing beach. I would avoid traveling to LIdo during the film festival. The festival rented out every available bike on the island and filled the best restaurants as well as elevating the prices.
“Great Choice”
Having stayed in Venice before, our family of three were looking for a short stay in Lido so we could enjoy the nice shops there and dthe beach, yet be close enough for a day trip to Venice. Mission accomplished! The hotel was a perfect choice--clean, across the street from the beach, and a short walk to the town of Lido. We loved our stay, and would highly recommend it to others. The extra bonus is that hotel is about half the price of a night stay in Venice, and it was very comfortable and modern.
“New Jersey meets Venice”
Most of what I expected about this hotel was met. The rooms were very clean, and comfortable, The bathroom was dissappointing, the tub/shower was small and hard to get into, (high walls on tub). Very small shower curtain, handheld shower was at knee level, impossible to use for a person used to the showers in the USA. The free breakfast was ok, not great, coffee was awful if you got it from the machine at the buffet, ask a waiter for coffe and it was made fresh and was good, if you plan on spending a lot of hours at the hotel, they look for another one, but if it basically just a place to sleep, then this hotel is good
“JUST WHAT THIS DOCTOR ORDERED”
Although I've been to Venice before, this was my first stay on Lido. This quaint little island reminds me of Palm Beach - a short boat ride from St. Mark's Square. Although the hotel is walkable from the dock, I would recommend a taxi for your initial arrival as the hotel is located on the far side of Lido, directly on the water. You will have access to an enormous beach area. By European standards, the rooms are quite large and the breakfast certainly adequate. The roof terrace has lounge chairs and a large jacuzzi. Only don't expect to use your laptop, as Italian anti-terrorist laws are putting a squeeze on hotel wireless internet services. (No internet? Could be a blessing in disguise.) We found the best restaurants on Lido. So after a day of sight-seeing in Venice, we would hop on the boat to Lido and stop off for dinner at one of several beautiful and inexpensive outdoor restaurants on the walk back to this hotel. On check-out, we neglected to pick up our passports. We called the hotel from the train station. Our desk clerk had already contacted Expedia to find out where we were going and made arrangements to send our passports to Florence. THEN he jumped in a boat and made the 45 minute trip to the train station himself and found us just boarding the train. If you can think of better customer service than this, I'd like to hear about it. I believe you will be more impressed with Venice if you stay at this hotel on Lido, than in congested, touristy Venice "central".
“Nice”
Nice hotel. 10 minute walk from water taxi. Clean. Nice bathroom. Breakfast was excellent. Restaurant for dinner was higher than in town. Cannot comment on beach or rooftop facilities. At least 40 minutes to Venice.
“Most relaxing way to do Venice”
After the crowds and hustle of Venice, this small hotel's rooftop lounging area with spectacular views of Venice on one side and the beach and ocean at the front, pleasant public areas, and included buffet breakfast is an affordable Italian getaway to remember. What a treat!
“A good option on the Lido.”
Generally, this hotel has great potential and always will have. Don't bother to pay for the breakfast: worst coffee in Italy, guaranteed!
