Charming and convenientPosted Aug 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were looking for a hotel in Venice but not much was available. We decided to stay in nearby Mestre. The room was a bit small for four by US standards, but adequate. Staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful, pointing out some good restaurants that are much more reasonable than Venice. Our only disappoinment was the air conditioning couldnt keep up with the heat wave (AKA summer). The location was convenient, a short bus ride to Venice, and a few blocks to the main train station in Mestre. We would stay here again (though probably not in August)

ÐisappointingPosted Jul 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
Well located (first bus stop outside of Venice) but the adverstised 'fully renovated' status was a lie. Not only were the rooms not renovated at all, but the air conditioning didn't work. The hotel staff helpfully moved our bags the next day to a supposedly 'renovated' room, which turned out to be equally unrenovated, with equally non-functional air conditionng and even less space than the first one. The staff''s charm was its saving grace, but someone should apply Truth in Advertising laws to this place.

Romantic setting with short commute to Venice. Hotel served excellent breakfast, room were decorated in elegant feminine style, bathroom was updated and balcony was wonderful. Staff gave excellent directions and ensured we saw the sights of Venice.

Hotel Villa Serena- A True Taste of ItalyPosted Jun 11, 2013
Pros: Staff attitude and concern.
Cons: Cigarette smell.
Location: Excellent for our requirements. Close to Venice but less expensive and close to top restaurants-cheaper and better than Venice.
We found the people at Hotel Villa Serena to be outstanding. The rooms were well maintained, but there was strong smell of cigarettes in the bedroom on our first visit.. Staff dealt with this.(We stayed two nights and then returned later for another night). the breakfasts were excellent and generous.

really easy to get to the islandsPosted Oct 7, 2012 on Hotels.com
the staff made this place welcoming and a good laugh. they were friendly and helpful. easy access by bus to and from Venice. some peoples reviews say it was difficult to find because the map instructions were wrong, well, welcome to Venice! All map directions are wrong around that place, laugh as you get lost!! Afew fruity characters around the neighborhood, but the hotel felt safe and comfortable.

Going to Venice? Stay Here!Posted Sep 19, 2012
Pros: The staff was the best I ever came across. The room was so charming. The breakfast excellent. The hotel was so beautifully decorated
Location: Outside of Venice in Marghera/Mestre, but the bus into the city is very convenient. Prices in Venice not affordable for me, but was a bargain here
This place is magnificent. Great breakfast. But most of all, the friendliest, most helpful staff I have ever met. Grigorio and Vitaly were wonderful. They helped get to the right bus to take into Venice, got me to inexpensive but great restaurants and offered so much helpful information. The price was wonderful too.

Best hotel we stayed at in Italy!Posted Jul 6, 2012 on Hotels.com
I loved this place. The hotel is charming, nicely decorated, well maintained. Every bit as pretty as the pictures. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with an excelent selection of rolls, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, chocolate - standard fare but of a better quality than many other places I've stayed. It's a short bus ride into Venice if you're sightseeing. There's not a lot within the immediate area of the hotel, so eat your breakfast there, but take the rest of your meals while out. The rooms do have refrigerators, so you can bring back a snack for later, though. Would definitely stay there again.

Great hotelPosted Jun 23, 2012
I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They give you suggestions on where to eat and how to get to places. The room was in emaculate condition and was very welcoming and updated. I appreciate everything hotel villa Serena gave us and hope to be back there.

Economic classPosted Oct 3, 2011
If are traveling with a low budget, this hotel may be an interesting option. The staff is very kind, the breakfast is good, the rooms are clean. They have parking services, which is very important when traveling to Veneza by car. Down side. Rooms are small, the bathroom is ridiculous and the neighborhood is not so friendly. It is easy to go to Veneza by bus, but the trip back is not so comfortable. At night, around 10:00pm, buses get very crowded and you probably will be tired. It is a very honest place, considering what you are paying for.
