We stayed there for 2 nights to visit Venice and be prepared for departure on a 7 night cruise from Venice. This small, 6 room pensione, was very clean and comfortable. I will warn everyone, if you are BIG, the new European showers may prove a challenge to get into. The bus stop is a block away, 20 min to Venice. There is a small market very close and a few shops within a block. I did not get to explore downtown Mestre. There were 2 clothing stores close by, one had fashionable shoes including women's boots for 50E. There is also a "Home Shop" somewhat of a cross between a hardware store and a dollar store. Adjacent to the hotel is a restaurant open for lunch and dinner, as I read the signs, but it appeared open for Sunday Breakfast too! They specialize in Crepes. The continental breakfast we were provided did leave something to be desired, it was very basic, prepackaged food, instant coffee. No coffee pot in the room. We did not experience any noise from the restaurant even though we were obviously right over it. We were able to leave our big bags in the lobby instead of carting them upstairs, a big relief since we did not need them except for the cruise. Overall, the experience was just what we expected, the room was clean, the people friendly and answered all questions we asked of them. I would return, the price was right and the accommodations were very comfortable. Yes, the front door lock is very amusing. :)
