Great StayPosted Nov 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very satisfied with the hotel. The room had a beautiful view and was very clean. Staff were very friendly and made it easy and relaxing to come and go as we pleased. The hotel is in a pleasant and quiet area close to the water bus services. Highly recommended.

Sent to Locanda ANTICO CASIN instead!Posted Aug 19, 2012
Pros: No favorites.
Cons: Poor bedding, uncomfortable seating, no character.
Location: Near upscale shops, but through a tunnel and down two "back alleys."
We actually did not stay in the Acquavita! Just by chance I was able to access email 22 hours prior to our stay, only to discover a message saying, "dear Guest problems due to air conditioning, we can not accommodate you. not to create you uncomfortable we have reserved for you LOCANDA ANTICO CASIN is of equal treatment and have higher price. is located about 100m from Piazza San Marco." We checked their website for address and location and after arriving in Venice, we wandered for TWO AND A HALF hours trying to find the new "hotel." During this struggle, we were finally able to reach them by phone and they said "there are errors on the website." Once we found it, there was no one there, only a brief paper and a key on the desk. While the room was clean (except the 1960's couch...ew!) it was not comfortable...the bed (with two flat pillows) was on a loft over the sitting area and when you sat up you hit your head on the rafters! There were 2 clear plastic chairs for seating. There was NO feeling of being in Venice! Having stayed in Venice 3 times now, I would definitely not recommend this as a place to stay.

Highly recommended place to stayPosted Jun 27, 2012 on Hotels.com
I spent a lot of time researching where to stay on our trip to Venice. I was certain I wanted to stay in venice itself and not in/on The Mestre and I wanted where we stayed to be romantic and impressive if possible. My budget was reasonable, but I didn't want to spend the earth for what was a brief stay. Sufficient to say the Locanda Acquavita ticked all the boxes. I only booked due to reviews I'd read as no official rating - but I'm glad I did - and I'm writing a review to ensure others use this excellent little B&B for their stay! It's located to the north east of cannerggio and is about 10mins walk from the rialto bridge - and a further 10 mins or so from Piazza San Marco. Admittedly the 'street' that it's down is not the best, but luckily the room easily made up for it. We had room 5 which was spacious, had a huge bed, a quaint wardrobe and chaise-lounge. room was kinda traditional venetian red. Bathroom (not shared) was clean, pleasant with hairdryer, bidet, toilet, sink and a shower. Bedroom had 2 large windows which could be opened to provide lovely views of the canal the building was adjacent to. Breakfast is served in the room as there is no dinning area, breakfast was hot drink, toast and breads etc. Great place to stay and most importantly, one I would easily use again if I returned to Venice. I recommend this place wholeheartedly!

Nice place, good family roomPosted Jun 17, 2012
Pros: Lobby, frescoed ceiling in room, authenticity
Cons: no elevator (only a big deal upon arrival/departure)
Location: Nice hood
Loved the frescoed ceiling...wish the floor hadn't been vinyl! A bit far from the action, but nice being in a neighborhood. The breakfast and breakfast room were lovely. Note that there is no elevator, which threw us a bit due to heavy luggage. Manager walked us half way up to room, then cell phone rang and he had to go (I couldn't blame him...our bags were heavy...but kids thought it was a fake call!).
