Hotel in 4th floor

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Nice Terrace where you could have a good continental breakfast. Very close to the San Marcos square
Cons: Signage to the hotel. Instructions on how to get there. Better explanations about its location and that it is on a 4th floor.
Arriving to our Hotel at night was the worst experience of our European Tour..., The Hotel is on a 4th Floor, of a building with no signs at all, located in a side street (or alley) with very poor lighting Finding the hotel was a nightmare, we needed to get advise from a local, who at the ended demanded us to give him a tip for helping us out... Then after we finally managed to find the hotel, we soon realized that we needed to get our luggage all the way to the 4th floor!!!!, if it had only been me, that would be ok, but with my wife and kids..., it was terrible. We were also told that we had a private bathroom, which we did, but the bathroom was located in a common area, so you needed to walk out of your room to get there... Nice rooms, great terrace but overall, a terrible experience...

Great location

Great value for money, fantastic location and alfresco breakfast every morning on the roof terrace which was lovely. The only down side is the 6 floors of steep stairs with luggage, no lift but would definetly recommend to a friend.

Hotel is in a great location.

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Use less perfume in the rooms.
Location: Location is great, one of the main reasons for choosing the hotel.
The hotel is in a great location, central to where you need to be when visiting Venice. The building is a little old, but it is Venice after all and all the buildings are old. The hotel rooms are great, the staff are even better. Small breakfast included hits the spot before starting your day. The Hotel is on the 4th floor, and the lower floors are a bit old from others in the building, but when you each the 4th floor it is great. Staff was very friendly, helpful and satisfied our every request.

Locanda Antics Venice

Posted May 15, 2014
Pros: The room and service. Position is good.
Cons: The entrance. Could be made more obvious. A lift?
Location: Lots of sights close by and some lovely piazzas. Good shops. Gondola park is interesting to see.
Be prepared for your hotel's entrance. When we found it up the tiny alleyway we were surprised to find a large brick room which looked derelict. The floor had carved slabs which had been excellent about two hundred years ago and we had eight stairways to climb ahead. At the top a reception desk set in a wide corridor and bedrooms off. The room was large and fitted in local style but we soon noticed that nothing was level. The water obviously affected the foundations! The hotel is close behind San Marco square and lots of restaurants are around. Service was excellent and the continental breakfast was good but you need to be early for the croissants. Great place!

Place is OK.

Cons: A/C all time, Venice can get very cold and very hot.
Not easy to find. Fourth floor without elevator is not easy. No air condition until 5/15, not easy. Breakfast not bad. Staffs are helpful. We did not stay for the last night, charge was not refunded, which we were informed before, but still think that is not fair.

Small hotel near San Marco Square

Posted May 5, 2014
Hotel was difficult to find. Finally when we found it-thought we had entered a cellar..hotel is on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. Not good when you have heavy luggage. Room (name of our room; Bellini) was small, toilet was running the entire time (4 nights) we stayed there even though we had told them about it on the first day. AC did not work. In fact the receptionist told us AC does not work at all before June 1st. That is when AC in the building is turned on:( not good when its hot outside as it was when we stayed there (4/29-5/3). Check out time is earlier than normal: 10:30. Did like that they served breakfast though. But not the fact it was served outside the hotel rooms in small area. So at 8 am you will wake up to people chatting at breakfast table. Rooftop terrace is nice. WiFi works well. Receptionists are helpful. Location is great.

Fantastic Location

Pros: Everything was better that we expected for the price we paid.
Cons: The name plaque on the front of the hotel. We did find it a little difficult to find but we found it by looking on the map we took with us.
Location: Fantastic location. Sitting on the rood terrace is amazing. A sun trap and very quiet; bliss. All that can be heard are the church bells ringing.
A 16th century Venetian hotel located minutes from St Mark's Square. The hotel owners and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Good buffet breakfast and free Wifi in the rooms and all public areas.

Relaxing stay in touristy Venice

Posted Apr 12, 2014
The hotel is located up a few flights of stairs, and the lobby looks sketchy but every ground floor in Venice is like that because it is sinking. The staff spoke english and was very pleasant&courteous. We really REALLY enjoyed the rooftop terrace and ate breakfast there every morning. By the way theirs one of the best continental breakfasts we had in Europe on a 4 month trip, they do breakfast differently than N.America and we had cold cuts, cheese, cereal, bread butter jam nutella yogurt canned fruit juices coffee tea, when nornally it is coffee juice and bun with jam. We stayed upstairs in the attic area, and one thing people might not like is the bathroom was separate, so we had to go through our short hallway to use it. Might be uncomfortable for some, but that is only for the 3 rooms upstairs, downstairs has private. It was actually really nice being upstairs, theres a sitting area with tables it felt like our own private Venetian apartment. I would recommend this hotel to anyone because the staff is friendly and the location is fantastic and you can see St Marks tower from the awesome rooftop terrace!

Very friendly guesthouse

Located very close to St.Marks square. Perfect if all you want in a clean, comfortable room and breakfast. Travel light as the Locanda is situated on the third floor with no lift. It's not easy to find in the dark as there is no sign outside. We had to enlist the help of a local waiter. The staff are lovely - very friendly and happy to help. I
