Perfect in every way. A true gem of a hotel. Small and smart, perfectly located. An ideal choice for a stay in Venice.

Charming and romanticPosted May 23, 2011 on Hotels.com
Splurged on the suite with view of Grand Canal and Rialto bridge and it was definitely worth it. Location means it's easy to find as well, a positive you appreciate when you get to the maze that is Venice. Staff are professional. Included a free trip to Murano (private water taxi, glass blowing demo and hard sell around the shop, but your own expense back to hotel). Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to fully enjoy the romance of Venice. You feel like a member of the social elite if you stay here and not one of the many tourists that pack the town.

Convenient location.Posted Oct 2, 2010 on Hotels.com
The hotel was steps from the Rialto Bridge and within walking distance of almost everything in Venice. It was clean and the staff was helpful. Although this is not uncommon in most of Europe, the beds were rather narrow. The room we were in had sloping floors which in a way added to the character. Getting into and out of the hotel was interesting with 3 different keys. One for the door to the street, one to the hotel itself, and one for our room. At least we felt secure. We asked for info on a glass blowing tour on Murano Island and were told the trip and tour we're free (should have been suspicious). It was really a quick 10 min. tour with pressure to buy products. Would have liked a tour with no pressure even if it cost us a bit. They recommended a good restaurant. Breakfast was good.

No direct view of the canal as promised!Posted Sep 8, 2010
Nice Staff, pleasant room, good location, free internet, a bottle of prosecco upon arrival and average breakfast. However, we were expecting a room with a canal view which was stated on our reservation. We were on the 3rd floor and our room faced another building. We did have a canal view as long as you opened the window and stuck your head out and looked down or to the left or right! It would have been better to not list that we had a "canal view room" or list it as an "obstructed view". We were very disappointed because the room really wasn't as advertised. We wouldn't go back - there are other less expensive options nearby.

Small but comfortable hotelPosted Apr 15, 2009
Altough its entrance is not nice at all, the rooms are very clean and the hotel is small but well located. The service is good. It seems more like a hostal than a hotel, but other than that everything is good.

Took us three hours to find it!Posted Aug 30, 2006
After searching for this hotel for three hours, we finally found that we had to go up a dark side alley, ring a barely legible bell, and then entered a dark, dreary, garbage-strewn courtyard, stumbling up some stairs to find an elevator to take us to the 3rd floor of this building where the hotel is located. Our day host was a lovely, helpful man, the night hosts were frankly out-of-it and downright rude. The room was pretty but we had booked a canal view that happened only if you really craned your neck out of the window, otherwise the view was of another building and pigeons. Beware if you're women traveling, as this entrance was left open at night and was completely dark and scary!

Great location, great staff, great roomPosted Apr 28, 2005
Well, just so you know this hotel is on 2 canals. The Grand Canal, which one room gets the view of, and the others that have the side canal view. All of the hotel is on half of the 3rd story, which does have an elevator. Our room had the side canal room which was really awesome! It is sometimes packed with gondolas! they are great to hear and watch from your room. You can also see a slice of the grand canal. The only drawbacks of this hotel as far as I could see were: a motor noise that turned on every couple of minutes, probably a water pump turning on. It wasn't too loud, but it was noticeable. We could also hear the water busses because you are very close to the Rialto stops. We had a broken shower handle holder in our shower. But it was nice to have a bathtub! The people are very friendly and helpful. It was nice to have a friendly person to come back to each night.
